Laptop Battery Problem- Dell Inspiron 1545
Follow me on Twitter twitter.com Basically, my laptop will not work when it’s not connected to the mains via the supplied charger wire, and it’s like there’s no battery in there, but I show all of this and explain everything in the video. Your help and suggestions would be much appreciated guys! (This thing is only 5-6 months old though, kinda takes the piss ¬_¬)
same shit for with my XPS m1730 piece of shit doesnt charge did everything and doesnt charge waste of money
heyy please help me um…i got dis dell laptop so after couple months i plugg in the charger but it doesnt charge can u help? got any ideas what to do?
Hey im having the exact same problem with my inspiron 1545. Did u fix the problem with yours? Did u try getting a new power adaptor as a few people suggested, just wondering if this worked for you? Cheers
these laptops suck so much, i bought one a year ago and then 4 months later the screen starts to not work as efficiently, it would just have a bright black screen whenever its rebooting after it got overheated or at random times, i didnt even play games with it until the 7th month with it too.and then at the 11th month, the harddrive crashed. so did my sister’s harddrive too ( same laptop, same time bought, only diff is hers is a little faster

Once again when i notice my shit aint chargin I system restore it..
I dunno how or why but it works like nothin was ever wrong with the fucker..

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop from Tesco a few days ago (using it just now) and noticed that the laptop turned off with on/off light went from white to orange. I checked the battery just before this happened and had 50 mins to go. Plugged in power cable, left it to charge for 10 mins and battery is now running down fine without the issue. This has happened a few times, should I replace the battery?
It is better than my old IBM ThinkPad which only lasts 15 minutes on low performance settings!
Hello. it sounds like there is a problem with the battery. as it is able to run from the mains adapter. i new battery would be the best course of action. what may be happening is the battery is shorting itself out due to form manufacturing fault
within the battery itself (of course the company will never admit that!!!).
Just so you know there are very few laptops out there that actually last much over 3-4 hours on battery life alone as the screens need a hell of a lot of power to run

Dude Im having the same problem…. I figured I was having charger issues so I purchased another for about $125…. it still didnt work…. so I figured it was the battery. I purchased a 9 cell batterry for about $170…. BUT it STILL didnt work…. I can only use it when its plugged up, it constantly says “plugged in not charging” but Im ready to say to Hell with Dell.
If you have it always connected, the battery wont work well n will only work when its connected… just use the adapter when its about to turn off (thats wat happened to my cousin)

My 1545 says the battery cannot be verified. I have to hold the power cable when I first plug it in or it doesn’t charge.

hey all, i got the same prob, i really dont know what do now, i have emailed that shop from where i have bought this laptop and i still has warrenty but they didnt reply me… m so tense what to do.
@standingcam I use a desktop instead of this laptop now, I am looking to get a Mac Mini next month though.
I bought the Inspiron 1440, and 3 months later, I plug in the charger. It says this “AC adapter can’t be verified” so now I have to turn this in to Geek squad and hope they fix it. I hope I get a MacBook Pro soon.
Probably the problem it is in your ac adapter, to see the problem go to your energy management file and click on it and see if your laptop is charging your battery, there is a little sign in your battery drawing. To see the status of your battery take off of your laptop and squeezethe bottom with little led and see how many led lights on. Many led lights on your battery is good otherwise change it.

I don’t that’s a problem with the battery or the charger…. maybe the jack plug is damaged, you should have to check it… maybe it needs to solder it again, or if you can change it, that will be better, good luck, and tell me what’s going on with your laptop, if you can fix it…. Greetings from Mexico…
