sometimes the battery meter is not calibrated correctly and once it reaches 10% windows automatically hibernates the computer, sometimes i’ll just turn that off and let it run down completely and then recharge it and that seems to help the battery life the most.

#1) Keeping the room temperature that the computer is operating cooler (air conditioner, open a window).
#2) Use an applet to lower the CPU speed. If you have for instance a 1.4 GHz CPU, you can lower it down to 600 MHz… You can do this in Linux Gnome easily.

Aaah! Help me!!! I know that my battery definitely needs to be replaced. I have to keep my laptop plugged in 24/7. I hover over the battery icon and it says “0% available, plugged in, not charging”. YES I meant 0! Zero! Nought! And I unplug my charger for a second and it turns itself off. How can I fix this without getting a new battery?
