It’s the first laptop cmos battery that I have changed to be honest. I can imagine that other makes are much more difficult to get to!

I was lucky with the one I did as it was so easy to get to battery.
I can imagine it being a lot more difficult on some laptops!

If it keeps going back to a single date then the CMOS Battery may need changing, unless there is another fault. They normally last a few years, not months!
When you find the CMOS battery in the laptop it will have the battery type engraved into it, so you can just get a replacement. You can get them from staples, maplin, or even ebay.
