where did you get the cells from?
@xercoin Theoretically, AA-SIZED batteries would work. If you’re talking about rechargeable AA batteries, they have an output of 1.2v. Most laptop battery cells have an output double or triple that. You’d just have to really know your stuff on voltage and voltage regulation, AND have enough room in the battery enclosure. I’d just find out what the cell voltage/size is and find some new ones that match, or are at least close on the size.
@arctictimberwolf do you know if an inspiron 1526 laptop comes with them?… or what other kind of batteries are there? (its like 2 years old)
@xercoin Anything is possible but if you are talking about alkaline AA batteries they will not work for this. The voltage is very specific and regulated on this sort of thing.
@mcmotto12 No, not all laptops have 18650 batteries. They differ from computer to computer.

@rroge5 Anything is possible but a wise man will simply have a backup battery or generator to plug into. Better to swap out battery packs than destroy your circuit boards and regulator circuits.
hey it looks like it could be possible to extend wires outside of the laptop to join on more cells and have a mega-long battery life:O
