@bassplayer247 if you were exporting a 14 min 720p video it’ll train it pretty fast.
@AryanAcepilot36 it’s projected to last 10 hours. that’s if you have the brightness set as dark as you can go with the backlit keyboard lights turned off, with other functions turned off.
@FrosChannel or export a 720p 14 min video will also do the trick.
Now you can just run down the battery by playing Counter Strike or Team Fortress 2.
Question. I didn’t drain it in one sitting. I started last night, it got late, I went to sleep. There’s a little juice left in my battery this morning. I wanted to resume the process. Is this okay or do I have to drain in one sitting?
What is the airport thing for the internet about that you said turn on in the beginning? I know it helps kill your battery but what is it for?
after u did this did youre battery last up to 10 hours? i just got a macbook pro the 13 inch one and the battery is suppose to last 10 hours but mine only lasts for like 6 hours. i havent tried doing this. its been 2 days.
Check out the app Watts at binarytricks [dot] com
It’s very useful to do & schedule battery calibrations on any MacBook
As other commenters have mentioned, these tips are a load of poo poo. If you deliberately speed up the process by using as much battery life as you can, then this process is pointless and only serves to add additional usage/wear to the battery.
I thought the new batteries didn’t need to be calibrated? And isn’t it harmful to fully discharge lithium ion batteries?
lol, do not follow these instructions … It won’t just discharge the battery, it’ll kill the computer if you do this every time you calibrate the battery …
would doing that command make a difference in performance if i were recording on my mac?
you could always watch a bunch of dvds or videos to shorten the time
Mine wont even discharge all the way even after two days!
what if your macbook wont sleep for 5 hours after fully discharging? mine eventually powers down before 5 hours is up.
I believe he means by “kill” your battery is that it will just make it run out quickly to hasten the process.
i don’t get it you said that it would kill the battery it really doesn’t damage it right?
what if i had mine for a month and haven’t done it is it still worth doing?
well yeah and it might kill your fans depending on how old they are
i was trying but when i charged it i turned it on
you usually do this with these type of batteries they have some type of circuit in them and they control the battery a new type of battery should come soon they are late on making breaking edge technology again
it makes the battery read on your desktop more accurate and i guess its good for ur battery and extends its life as well
IDK battery maintenence
why do u need 2 do this?
lmao ya i have the 17” and it’ll take me 7.5 to 8
