Durable Laptop Batteries
11.6″ Acer Aspire One 751 with 6-Cell Battery First Impressions
First impressions of my 6-cell battery 11.6″ Acer Aspire One 751 mini-notebook. Impressed with it’s size and weight compared to a 10-inch netbook. Will the Atom Z520 processor be fast enough for daily use?

@rish134 Yeah, i’m in year 11 and its great, really quiet.
I put Ubuntu on there after 6-7 months because my Vista slowed down alot.
Great netbook though!
hey there, i really want to know if this is a good netbook for a student?
thanks.
i wnt a 9 cell battery
@img0rdonfreeman okay, sorry, its just that you mentioned the video card… mine works fine, i have windows media player, google chrome &with 5 tabs open* and MSN and it dosent struggle at all.
@djfrogfm At what point did I mention gaming? This netbook struggles with you tube, windows media player and any websites that have more than just text. So yeah, thats what I am trying to do on this netbook and it fails when compared to other’s.
@img0rdonfreeman what are you trying to do on it, its a netbook, not a laptop, designed for surfing the web, not gaming!
For all the haters out there, i have had this laptop since christmas 09 and i have had NO problems with it, mine is the black vista version with 3 cell, i get about 3.0 – 3.5 hours battery life *and i didnt charge it all the way when i first got it* i use this whenever i can, i take it to school with me, i take it out with me when i go out with my mates so i can upload pictures onto it so we can take more pictures.
im thinking about buying the 6 cell battery… but do i really need it?
I have one of these and it is terrible. It looks great but it only has an Intel GMA 500 video card. I would avoid this and get something like the Dell Mini 10v or ASUS EeePc.
5.5 To 6 Hrs
what a f… useless bumm “first impressiom”…he
love? that “pointing finger” at the end…he…well see ya never…waste of time…
give it to some pre-school…she-he will review it much more competent…sure!
What’s the battery life like with the 6 cells?
I’m undecided between this and saving £40 with only a 3 cell battery

That’s a nice netbook! I didn’t buy it partly because of it’s relatively slow CPU speed (1.33GHz vs 1.66GHz in Acer AOD250) and buggy GMA500 drivers back then.
@supersnot4 Y eso como se hace? Se actualiza automáticamente o tengo que descargarme algún archivo en particular? Saludos
i have the same thing, but with a 3 cell battery. size wise, it’s perfect. big enough for a full size keyboard, yet small enough to just throw in my backpack for school, and even my small riding backpack for my dirt bike to save my helmet cam videos. video wise, out of the box it’s horrible. however, install the update from intel (the computer will say it already has a newer update installed, install it anyway) and update flash and it plays 720p perfectly, and HQ youtube.
am getting one for christmas they look amazing
Oh well, it’s the Intel atom Z250 then. It’s a weak processor.

i had aspire acer on 751 (1.3 ghz) with windows Xp, many of acquintaces has the same problems with acer laptops and mini netbook..
Let me guess, you had Acer Aspire One 751 with Intel Atom Z250 (1.1ghz) and Vista (or maybe XP, idk.) So how can you possibly say that “typically Acer laptops have this prob.” I have Acer Aspire AOD150 and it easily runs Google Chrome + iTunes (with 5000 song library) + Microsoft Word + Google Desktop (with 7 gadgets) + Bitdefender Total Security. I even had GTA San Andreas run on it on low settings.
Maybe it’s just the AO751, the one you had. Did it have Vista or XP?
@g0rsk13g4n9st4
thanks but it hanged all the time. i used it only for web browsing and words writing but it seems typically Acer laptops has this problem, acer perhaps good in regular computer but never with laptops or netbook
That’s the whole point of a netbook isn’t it. If you get a machine for $300-400 and expect the same performance as fully fledged Vaio, then you deserve to be disappointed. Personally, I have an HP tablet, a Vaio laptop and an Acer netbook. They’re all made for different purpose computing and will have their unique ups and downs to them. Why can’t you understand that.
