for all you that say this comp overheats you are stupid. any laptop get hot like that but these in particular need to be put in a flat surface and if it gets hot is cause its hot to the touch like the new ps3 slims…doesnt mean it overheats…if it were to it would fry and not work ne more

@ralphagir same as dell stay away from them, its liek my computer has a billion problems the damn inspiron and they happened during waranty, not even a year later, but when i got it fixed it came back WORSE with a defected battery and now the warranty is up, sneak bastards!

The only problem I have with mine is broken hinge. It happened exactly after the warranty expired. I had extended warranty but they said it would not cover it as I sat on my laptop! I am not ecsadurating here! The computer guy told me secretly that it’s a common problem with these laptops. I love this PC apart from this little and at the same time big inconvenience! And it’s still working well with the breakage. It’s just sitting on top of my desk most of the time or travels with open screen.
Your laptop generates heat. It dissipates this heat by circulating air through cooling vents; if these vents are blocked your laptop will overheat and could be damaged. The most common way this happens is when using the laptop on a soft surface such as on top of a blanket or pillow. The blanket covers the cooling vents and prevents the laptop from cooling. For this reason you should always rest a running laptop on a HARD SURFACE (desk). After that it never over heats for me.

was that the dv4 series because my dad uses one in iraq and has no problems with it
over heats,…ALOT i had o send it back 2 HP 4 times to get repaired! faults batteries (the made a recall for them) and now hp have discontinued them! believe me u R better without one but take a risk if i like! i just dont wanna see ppl wasing there money thas all
