@DavinDaGeek PS Please may I ask another thing? To replace the broken screen, do I have to take it virtually all apart (i.e. follow your videos 1-3)? Or can I skip some parts (can anything be left and still access the screen)? Thanks so much, I'm a bit daunted but have just bought some screwdrivers to help.

Cool- have you got any pointers on what needs to be done? I'm at the stage where I've taken out about 20 screws from the bottom- all the keyboard icon ones, but the top keyboard bit still won't pop out so I'm thinking there are more, like the hard drive / optical drive / wireless that need to go. Any help appreciated. Thank you, your video is brill.

??? that doesn't look like the right kind of screwdriver...you need a set of metric screwdrivers to work on these. I got a set from Sears for about $30. You need some small flat blade screwdrivers to pry up on those connectors.

@whiskeyify Excuse me, but what are you talking about? This computer has 0 hex screws in it. They're all phillips screws in this laptop. And yes it is completely fine to use a magnetic screwdriver on a laptop. As long as the machine is off and not running, you're fine.
