It seems the configurations in DK is either the i3 with the small battery and half the battery life or the i5 with the large battery and ~twice the battery life.

I’ve pre-ordered this back in December, and still waiting for it to be in stock. Disappointed with the fact that they’re still using the glossy plastic around the screen. Looks cheap.

The magnesium is better than aluminium, but the lack of unibody construction cancels that out. Along with the cheap, glossy plastic for the mouse buttons.

Umm, first gen EeePC had first gen “SSD” to stay very cheap. This is targeted at 1000+ USD market, if it were to have SSD option it would be very fast. The Momentus SSD is a very fast drive and uses premium NAND flash chips. The Seagate hybrid is known to be on par with a velociraptor from WD. It is a VERY fast drive. Unfortunately the fact that it has NAND flash onboard does not make it SSD since there are moving parts on the drive which makes it a Disk Drive.

Yep. So that is why I am going to buy good SSD drive (OCZ Vertex2/Vertex3, Corsair F-series or Patrion Inferno) and I am not going to change my mind.

Based on other user’s comments, it sounds like the problem occurs when the laptop’s processor changes speed to save power. The change in power draw excites a number of components on the motherboard and causes the computer to make an aweful high pitched whine.”
