Just got a SunSport 6 solar charge controller the other day so I don't over charge my batteries. But the charge controller doesn't let enough juice through to run the laptop. I ran the setup with the panel directly connected like I did in the film, and it only ran for about 50min. So I can either buy a 2nd panel for about $400, or sell this one and get a bigger panel for $550. I can afford neither at the moment due to my staving student budget.

Sorry to say my first panel apparently was defective and only putting out about 48% of it's rated power, compared to the 2nd panel that was giving me 84% or it's rated power at the same time. I'm currently waiting to hear back if I can get a replacement before I can make any more progress.

Nice panel, I like those flexible panels for trips. One suggestion is to buy a jump starter / power pack which has a larger storage battery and dc outputs. I picked up a jump starter for $20 with a 10 ah battery(local store). You can get them off of ebay or amazon for a little bit more. My system is less portable, but it's just to use in a power emergency. Great vid!
