I have this laptop, I already got a gaming desktop. Getting a gaming laptop is retarded, upgrading is a pain in the ass and overheat issues are common, and overpriced. This laptop works excellent for web browsing HD vids, and the essentials u need for school and work. Battery last around 6 to 7 hours with dim screen and wifi. Probably last 8 hours with wifi off.
@KaptainKoolz Its not a gaming laptop, its built for portability 6-7 hour battery life with decent power to do the basic things.

HOLY SHIT TATS expensive. 700 bucks for a acer with a pentium. HSN is a rip off, i can get the same/similar model for 550 on amazon or one with a core 2 solo for 600.

LOL I know this doesn’t have a DVD drive. What I’m saying is that the hosts are selling it by comparing it to a portable DVD player, saying how it’s better, plays more movies, when in fact it can’t play DVD’s at all.
“decoding DVD quality video” doesn’t mean video processing/editing… it means playing an XviD encoded AVI file of equal quality to a DVD disc since this can’t play discs.
Acer 3810′s come with 3 CPU options: SU2700 (this one), SU3500, and SU9400.

The 14 and 15.6 inch models have the dvd drive. Secondly, this laptop isn’t intended for video processing and editing. If you bout it for that you’re plain stupid since in that price range you could have settled for a MSI, Toshiba or Acer that could take the video editing job without any sweat. There are two kinds of processors that the timeline has, the su3500 ( single core on a core 2 duo architecture ) and su9400 ( core 2 duo ). The first one is cheaper. So next time, get your facts right.
Hi, I’m want to get a high end laptop, and want to know if I’m making the right decisions in terms of what’s in it. It has 2 GTX 280m in SLI (I know, right?) and an Intel QX9300 2 Quad Core processor. I would also like Windows 7 Ultimate on it, but I don’t know which bit to get (32 or 64) to be able to play all games (I’m planning on this being a gaming desktop replacement.). I don’t know too much about bits, but with the processor and the OS, which bit should I get to play?

(I just ordered this laptop) but the hosts are trying to deceive people.
1. IT DOES NOT HAVE A DVD DRIVE! You could not watch a single DVD movie.
2. THE BATTERY WILL NOT LAST 3+ MOVIES. In high-intensity load situations like decoding DVD quality video, it won’t last 8 hours. It only lasts 8 hours in power-saving mode.
I also like how they never specify that the “Intel Pentium Processor” is a weak 1.3GHz single-core.

nooo chance guys I actually have this computer the 14 inch version adn the battery consistantly lasts between 7-8 hours. and it runs very very cool. never ever gets hot..great laptop
