This device strikes me as kin to the Alphasmart Neo. My wife took one to Ireland and England a few years ago, and it served her writing needs very well.

Right before I joined Macworld (1999) I was doing IT for a newspaper publisher here on the Cape, and some of our reporters *still* used Model 100s to write from the field. Put in fresh AA batteries from time to time and they’d keep working.
