UNBOXING: Samsung Series 9 Laptop [Part 1]
ttp://www.laptopthoughts.com This is part one of a three part unboxing and first impressions video of the Samsung Series 9 laptop (900X3A-A02CA). This is a thin and light laptop that goes head to head with the Macbook Air, though it costs a pretty penny doing so. Where to buy: is.gd (this is a lesser configuration) It features an Intel Core i5 2537M CPU at 1.4 Ghz (3 MB cache), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 256 GB SSD, and an Intel GMA HD GPU. The 13.3 inch screen is matte and 1366 x 768 in resolution. There are two 3 watt speakers and SRS 3D sound. The webcam is 1.3 megapixels, and there’s a single microphone under the screen. In addition to 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, there’s a dongle that, when attached to the side, adds Gigabit Ethernet. Video output is solely mini HDMI (no adaptor is included in the box), and in addition to microphone/headphone jack, there one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port (one is an always-on charging port). Samsung made the interesting – and wrong in my opinion – decision to go with a microSD card slot rather than a full-sized SD card slot. The laptop has an internal, non-removable 6 cell (40 wHR) battery. The laptop is 2.88 pounds (1.31 kg) and measures 12.9″ wide, 8.9″ deep, and between 0.62″ and 0.64″ thick from front to back. Customer Reviews:
Have had this Win 7 Mac Air equivalent for about a month now. Highly recommended. It’s fast, boots quickly, wakes up in? <2 sec every time, and has great usability. Keyboard, screen, usability are all fine. Battery life gets me through the day since I can put it to sleep just by closing lid and wake it back up 20 minutes later due to …

I was gonna get this laptop but not having an optical? drive turned me away.
100$ were? spent on the box.
Dude get a? life
$2399 CAD is about? $2038 US
I like this. Ive been using aHP pavilion dv6 and it? has poor battery life. Amma get this.
I didn’t notice any heat issues, but I also only had it for a couple of weeks, so? I can’t give you a definitive answer. Given it’s using a ULV processor and an SSD, I don’t expect heat to be a problem.

sir i’ve a question. does it have any heat issues? currently using macbook pro 15″. now gonna sell it and i’m gonna get this. im done with mac. i’ve seen ur reviews on this series9. u? rock man
Read the video description and watch the review video – those two things will? answer your questions. I am, however, buying an Asus UX31 ZENBOOK.

What are the specs? And should I buy? I mostly watch movies on laptop and hanging on facebook and I open lot of tabs while im on internet. Is it really? fast and also i download lot of music and and i planning to play some games too maybe but probably not cause i dont have time. But i afraid that it will slow down after i download some staff.. So what do you say ? How do you like it ?Any problem so far, or any complaining ?
My Science Teacher has this and the Macbook air aswell as the HP Pavilion , They? all sit on her desk – When she said she was rich I thought she was jokin !

B-Samsung Series 9
Oh sorry i still enjoyed? the video:)
That’s what I said – that Apple is very competitive with the Series 9 on price. This one I’m reviewing has 8 GB of RAM, but otherwise the 13 inch Air with the upgraded 256 GB SSD matches the Series 9 in basically? every way, and does so at a lower price. Samsung needs to drop the price on the Series 9 by a few hundreds bucks ASAP.

actually the newest top of? the line macbook air (13 in with highest specs) is only 1599 compared to the higher price of this laptop. Just saying both notebooks are very nice. Personally Id rather have the Air.
@tttwas Wait for my review.?
Soon…
- Jason
The new Macbook Airs are? very competitive with the Series 9…especially on price, which is shocking when you think about it.
- Jason
I like the look of this laptop, but I do have to? say the new 2011 Macbook air 11 inch has a 2nd Gen Core i5 and the 13 in has the i5 or i7
I’m not going to argue with you. If you do some research you’ll learn that replacing a hard drive with an SSD does virtually nothing for? battery life on modern laptops; hard drives consume very little power. I do agree that the GPU on the dm1z is decent, but if you want a gaming laptop, you’re not going to buy the Series 9 *or* the dm1z. The Series 9 can handle 1080p HD playback just fine.
- Jason
Yes it is alot better, but in every single way? i dont think so, the first thing wauld be its graphics, they can even compete with the dm1z, the 2nd thing is battery. the dm1z has a spinning hard drive and it still kills it with battery usage, if u purchase? one with a SSD imagine then. and the price is ALOT LOWER ON THE DM1Z, when in fact most of todays use requires a person to have atleast a decent graphics card
