n73 which is the same computer but with 17.3″ screen does have the? second hard drive spot
Hi! Thanx for the great video. I’m gonna upgrade too. But i have a question. How many slots do we have??
To change? the memory and HD is quite easy on this laptop. However, changing the wi-fi is quite difficult. Only seen a guide with pictures online. Wished someone made a vid.
is it possible to change the original? hard drive for a SSD? Are all hard drives in the same physical size and such? (does all fit?)
Asus seems to discourage home? upgrades. Thanks for sharing this info.
man, this helped so much thanks a lot
?
can you do a tutorial on how? to get to the fan?
@spireland5 Do you know how to open this laptop to clean the fan?? My N53SN fan started making weird noises and not functioning properly and lead to overheating.
Hello @spireland5, I’ve buy? an n53 and I want to add him some RAM. Rubbers are recovering ?
Someone should make a video how to open it so far that you can replace the video card and processor gpu-s termal paste and clean the vents, because this? laptop have a serious problem getting overeheated.
Thank you very much!?
Seriously, not even Apple does that, and they’re known for making inconvenient design decisions for the sake? of clean-cut design or performance benefits (difficult to replace batteries on newer models come to mind, but I’m not exactly complaining, since the battery life increase is fairly significant).
I own one of these laptops, and while I’m quite satisfied with it (build quality is pretty good), I have to? say that it was a pretty dick move by ASUS to hide those screws under the feet.
I mean, really. What a wonderful way to make sure that people will lose the rubber feet for the bottom of their laptop.
Stupid stupid stupid. So so so so stupid.
You can replace your DVD drive with a hard drive. You’ll need to buy a 12.7 caddy for a 2.5 inch? HDD/SSD (ebay…)
Do you keep? your warranty?
Thanks for showing how to access that!? ‘Bout to drop in 8 more gigs of RAM and an 128 GB Crucial M4 SSD.
BTW, in my research I’ve found it IS POSSIBLE to have both the SSD and the original hard drive… you just have to sacrifice the optical drive and get a OBHD caddy from newmodeus
That’s what? I need… thank’s!
No,? I don’t see an extra space.
hey can you tell me where i can find my wireless card? i? wanna swap it out for a stronger one…
Is there room? for a second hard drive?
Hey there, thanks a ton for this!
I? want to do some cleanup in the fan area – any way to open that part up without voiding the warranty? And if not, how would you clean it up?
Thanks! I was a bit baffled that there where no? visible screws.. Installed a 160GB Intel D320 SSD and Another 4GB RAM.
But what is behind that little “hatch” in the middle? And how do you get to the fan and wifi card?
What is under that extra panel above where? you just went? I have one and I’m not game enough to look
