“I love it, when a plan comes together …”

Or when I just get lucky …
Not planned and not intended to be used this way for a shoot — there I want quick access to camera & lenses and don’t need no laptop..
But during travel, I actually can fit my TINY 12" laptop right in there — no need for yet an extra bag. Battery & AC-charger fit into the top compartment (in addition to flash & flashlights & stuff)

i have returned from paris, it has been a great trip.
what i did not need:
- one of three sweaters
- rain jacket
- glasses (wearing lenses all day, duh)
the toilet bag is too bulky, i’m going to use only ziploc bags next time.
ich mag die beiden aufkleber links auf dem macbook.
sind polaroid pogos die leider verfaerbt sind durch das warme display.
Likely you have seen my new PELICAN CASE — that case is big, heavy and IMHO also somewhat secure. But one thing it is not — easy to carry and it is one big piece of equipment.
Faced with the death of my (old, heavy & big) laptop’s battery and the prospect of hauling around an 8+lbs laptop + AC adapter combo, I switched to a much leaner & portable alternative. Not a real "netbook" — noticeably bigger in all categories. Still smaller & cheaper than the 13" laptops, the smallest size I originally had in mind.
To me it seems this could be the beginning of a "long" travel-friendship. So far it performed well and fits into spaces I hadn’t planned , making it even more portable.
.
Meanwhile, I’ve upgraded it with a $17 GPS kit (antenna & mapping SW) and external speakers for in-car navigation and better audio output. Plus a 12V-to-110V adapter for long distance (and also to recharge AA/AAA and Nikon batteries). And add to this a 2.5" ext. USB drive for backup …
