Run it from the mains as often as possible. Your battery lifetime is related to the amount of time it is charged and discharged

My previous battery worked flawlessly. And I have followed the same practices with both. see this wiki article on li-ion

At least it still charges. Mine in my Powerbook is 23 months old and holds no charge at all.

yeah, well I got a replacement battery which seems to do odd things that the original didn’t. Like not going to 100% on recharge, and when running off mains it seems to discharge faster…not really that happy with the replacement.
