Is? it possible to run the power suplly with the fan turned off?
I already have a pc power supply working for my charger, mas it's very noisy.
The maximum watt that the power supply reached was 50w, so i think the power supply would stay cool with low power consuption.

Ha, All the tutorials make this sound so complicated, it's the same as when I converted an atx PSU to run seperate for a water cooling application. RC hobbyists just seemed to make it more complicated seeming.

Thanks? for the simple breakdown to put it back in my head.

You can replace the fan. There's a good chance that without a big load on it the PSU would do fine and not overheat, but you could also buy a quiet powerful 120mm fan(I love the D12Sl-12's) for a few? dollars and replace the current fan. It will probably be a more powerful fan, and it will definitely be quieter.
