Tomorrow is the General Strike in Oakland and San Francisco and other cities across the world. These are the usual items I carry with me during these events. Some days will be lighter than most. Bigger protests call for more things to carry.

What kind of filter is that? Against what does it protect?
And what makes me curious is why carry two cameras?

Seen in my contacts’ photos. ( ?² )
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/cycloctopus] It’s a 44mm NATO gas mask filter, it allows to the wearer to breathe when chemical agents like smoke, tear gas or pepper balls is deployed. The purpose of two cameras is to have a complete viewing range from 17mm to 300mm, also the 2nd purpose of two cameras is simple, I don’t have to fumble around and change lenses. When your at an event and you go to open your bag and grab the lens and take off the old one and put the new lens on that shot is most likely long gone.
