The problem is that the bottom touchscreen taks up more battery?
This looks like it would be perfect for reading music on a music? stand if I could flip it vertical. Does it do that?
The Acer Aspire 8950G-9487 has a nice? keyboard! It is the one that I have!
Windows 7 is great. I can set up 4 + windows on the screens and manipulate navigation much faster by hand than by mouse. Highlight and copy text etc takes a little practice but is way faster to c/p with multiple docs. I believe that this “gadget” is going to improve my productivity through touch interface. Portability turns out to be an added bonus rather than the main driver to own this cool tool. Looks like my desktop may actually? become redundant. (or will when the 6120 comes back).
Shame that Acer aren’t going to continue to develop it. I hope that they will at least do an update or 3 to enable full function of windows 8 and their own cool apps. Also hope they confirm whether current bios will work ok with planed upgrades to i7-620M and 256gb SSD mSata PCIe to further improve it (not that I have yet experienced any justification to do so), Also looking at a? 3G/GPS combo mini PCIe card but think the SSD would be the bigger benefit as a 3G dongle isn’t a big deal to tote.
I will be mainly typing by keyboard to gain desktop space anyway so the minor keyboard issues don’t worry me and by practicing on the setup wizard have it pretty well sussed it anyway. (not a touch typist – just a competent 5 or 6 finger pecker
I uploaded beta version of windows 8 to see how it looks. Not real sure if I like 8 yet but some of the Acer apps such as the Acer windows manager won’t work but I haven’t really played around with it enough to get a proper feel for? it on 8 yet.
I have recently bought one with an upgrade to 8Gb ram and am seriously impressed, (even though it is in for repair for a powering up issue on battery after only a week :-/ )
A ‘touch-book’ is such a cool concept for multi tasking. I often have have 6 to 12 assorted office docs, pdf’s and jpg folders open to refer? to and or copy paste from as I write reports (sometimes in separate docs or appendices).
Get a USB keyboard.? Most laptop keyboards are shite anyway.
the next thing is? a 4 screen laptop
or hologram laptop lol
Capacitive multi-touch. No active digitizer support.?
What type of touch screen does it use? Those? old pressure-based ones or the newer ones where you just give it the slighest touch and you’re good? I’m considering buying it, but if the touch screens are those crappy old ones, then I’ll just overlook this laptop and get something better suited for art.
Actually, using an? X10 set up, it will blend!
The multi touch actions might be a little unfair to people who are missing fingers…? :/
2? and a half hours of mild usage on a full charge…
what thee?
Very nice review, I feel that you guys do the most thorough reviews around.? Keep up the good work.
bad cam?
I…NEED…THIS…NOW?
Touch Screen Technology is cool but I want to feel the keys so that I can type quicker and not have to? worry about hitting the wrong key. If the monitor is a touch screen, that is okay. But I would want a real keyboard so I can feel what I am doing.
so no CD/DVD DRIVE??
idk Michael Cera? did tech reviews
nice review btw
Its cool but, i? have 11 fingers, when will they come out with a eleven touch?
my computer? barley pulls off 20 mins of battery
the only thing I regret is it doesn? have dedicated graphics card =(
not bad for? $1,300
