Yes, that’s how they work. These stay charged at all times to instantly switch to while the generators take about 30 seconds to get up to speed. They had 2 strings per UPS, but about a month ago both strings failed simultaneously in the first UPS resulting in a 10 second power outage. They’ve since added a 3rd string to each UPS (which is unheard of usually) and have significantly increased their testing frequency for each string.
