thanks for taking the time out to answer my question. im frm london btw so i dunno if we can get that shipped over,ill check it out tho… im on 644 cycle count.. some would say thats? that for the batt. now the warning comes and goes its not there now. ahh dam computers.
My 2009 Unibody MacBook Pro’s trackpad has not been clickable from the right side, and i’ve? been stumped on the cause. I’ve been tightening and loosening the trackpad screws for days now, and when it seems to be working it again loses functionality when the battery is put back into place. Then I noticed the battery swelling.
- if you’re sure you need a new battery, then you? can save a lot of money and get a better battery from a 3rd party online (I recommend a NuPower battery from OWC). Apple will charge you more for a lower capacity battery. No worries about static for this replacement, just keep your hands away from the motherboard. If you have Apple Care, definitely take it in to get it looked at, the warning you are getting may be for some other reason other than a bad battery.

I’m puzzled too,? I have no idea what I was thinking. But it turned out for the best, as I wanted to post how to do the battery replacement anyway.
You’re referring to the 13 inch model of course – I don’t think so, I think the battery is of a slightly different? design – see this video: youtube.com/watch?v=O9z0pFhRTeQ – I think shape and size is the same, but the connector is in a different place. But I’m not 100% sure on that, so hopefully someone else who knows for sure will comment.
can i use a? macbook pro battery for the aluminum macbook??

I can confirm there’s no need to remove the battery for access to the HDD. I’m a little puzzled as to why you thought it necessary in the first place as the battery in no way impedes access to? the HDD.

Good question. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure the graphics processors in these models are soldered to the motherboard, so? there is no upgrade option for video.

One more thought – it occurred? to me one might try to squeeze out the hard drive without actually removing the battery – if you can pull it off, more power to you!
