Our BlueTop battery is a marine battery, intended to be used in? boats. For an automotive application, you would need either a RedTop starting battery, or a YellowTop deep-cycling battery.

I’m looking to upgrade? my 2 redtops to 2 yellow tops for car audio..why is the warranty on the yellow top only 1 year than a redtop which is a 3 year?

I have recently had a duel sub and AMP installed in by car (2x 12″ running at 250 RMS and the AMP is 900 watt) about a week later i started having the battery warning light turning on indicating the alternator was not working properly and a week after that i had a flat battery. I have been looking around online and have been suggested to get a Yellow Top battery. Would the yellow top be what i Need? for my sound system?

If you have upgraded your audio system, the deep-cycle capability of an appropriately-sized YellowTop definitely makes it a good choice. However, the battery is just one? piece to the puzzle for you. As you have increased your electrical demands, you also need to consider how that will impact your charging system. If your alternator is failing, it might be a good idea to replace it with a higher-output alternator. Upgrading your wiring would also be a wise investment.

im running about 550watts of extra off? road lights on my truck and was wondering if? i NEED a deep cycle battery and should i get a red top or yellow top?

i only need a deep cycle battery if i leave the audio/lights running while its off correct? other then that it dosnt help with the operation of lights at all right?
