you really should NOT do this on any type of carpet. if you touch anything inside, after creating? a ‘static electic discharge’ potential, you risk frying what your trying to clean, or fix.
@poopystickerson The wireless antenna unplugs like a ‘snap button’ from the? wireless card. It stays connected to the screen when you pull the screen off. I hope this helps.

Don’t put the components on the? anti-static bags, put them inside!!! I can just see a newbie screw this up. Antistatic bags are anti static for a reason, because the static is on the outside and the inside is neutral….

This is the wrong way to even consider taking apart a laptop those static sensitive components been placed on a carpet ! ensure if your gonna strip a laptop to use a clean non fibre area and if? possible to use anti static bags to place the components on and also label the screws there maybe different sizes for different areas !
now when your done sweep it all into a big pile and throw it in the garbage where HP belongs ?
Was watchin your video while breaking down my laptop… I’ll say now its my fault for this 100% but with your Damn fast forward video I couldn’t see crap you were doin… I pulled the panel apart and a wire broke/ frayed…. I’ll repeat… It’s my fault on my part but you need to slow it down and also suggest not to work on a computer on the carpet…. I should have known better when I saw that… Thanx… But way? too Damn fast…

Another note, you may want to take ‘before’ pictures as you go to help with reassembly. When? reattaching keyboard cable, the white clip goes behind (under) the cable.
This video was helpful. My fan stopped working and I took it apart and removed the lint ball from the fan. It took me hours from start to finish.? Not for the timid, like taking a watch apart. I recommend keeping careful track of screws they are different sizes. Maybe use an egg box and a notepad.
Great job but just a piece of advice for anybody doing this for the first time don’t attemp this standing on a carpet, the static electricity created by your feet (or you rear end) rubbing on the carpet could fry your processor or any of the electronic parts. Same idea for vacuums, don’t use it to clean any electronic parts they creat static electricity and will fry your laptop. Keep that? in mind.
