Windows 7 is great, works with the new SATA Hard drives and SSD (faster data transfers) something Windows XP can’t work with.
I use Firefox as web browser and use Windows 7 and Linux as OS

It’s good, reliable and does just what it says on the box. I never change to a newer OS until it is about to be replaced anyway because I reckon, by then, they’ve fixed most of the bugs, they’re ever likely to. IE – out (I use Chrome), WMP out ( I use VLC). In fact, after having worked briefly at a MS facility (but not for MS), I would avoid as much of MS stuff as I can. There were so many viruses going around within MS that it was like a pandemic. On girl had over 250 copies of the same virus on her PC!

Open Office is very good! and it’s free!!!!

Panasonic make good laptops.

Police use Panasonic Toughbooks. (You can find them used for $500 or less)

But on cars: if you pick one it is always wise to look for a car that was always in someone’s family. An older car can in that case be a wiser choice as a younger one that had various owners, since that car probably always was well serviced, and will give you many troublefree miles.

well, it could run Vista, but endless BSOD plus 9 crashing. i dont know how many years it can run in total…

the previous computer of mine, well, was an old one with Sharp or some names. working fine with Windows ME, lol! many people even never heard of this operation system!

So, never a Lenovo again for me, and not for you either I assume. Remarkable that you could not use Vista on it too. Windows 7 should be a lot better, so I’m told. When I bought mine I hoped to use it for six years or so, I had a simple and cheap Toshiba before this one, and it was indestructable. So, what did I learn? Going expensive is not always the best option.
