I own this laptop, have upgraded mines a? bit since I first bought it (memory upgrade to 8gb (able to upgrade to 16gb), CPU upgrade plus overclock to 3.6Ghz w/turbo, IC Diamond 7 thermal compound, hard drive upgraded to a 256gb SSD, wireless card upgraded to a Bigfoot Killer 1102, DVD-RW drive upgraded to a Blu-ray drive, overclocked graphics card (thinking of upgrading it soon) but this laptop plays everything I throw at it on high settings with ease. However it’s best to use a cooling pad.

I have a very similar version of this notebook. There is a little led screen next to the power button on the far left and the keyboard does not light up. It has a GeForce 9800m Gs 512 mb graphics card, and I? also bought this sometime in 2010. Anyone know what this computer is called?
Actually I was checking and it does run MW3 in great standing on low med, and high settings but dies when? trying to run MW3 in ultra lol.
Well I checked out it’s specs on notebookcheck and the CPU and GPU is still ranked in the top 100. That’s pretty good. It may not be a powerhouse like it was when? it came out but for $599 this is a steal.
I have this laptop i love it plays everything that i? play on high. But i highly reccomend a cooling pad or table
is the laptop only 3d or can you zap from normal to 3d

I have a problem with something I have no idea.Sometimes I hear a strange sound from the right side close to Dvd drive and hard drive.I dont know what is the reason.When I hear this sound? my laptop is freezing.Maybe its hard drive but im not sure.

it barely runs blops so i doubt it would run mw3, this laptop was made? in late 2009, so its a little outdated, if you want a computer that runs mw3, get a newer one or a custom built desktop

That’s actually quite typical. Even if Asus had built in a slot that could be upgraded like desktops, the thermal profile of faster GPUs is just too? high compared to the GTS 360m. That’s a 35 watt card. I’m pretty sure the GTX 460m is at least 65 watts. That’s a much hotter card. The GTS 360m in mine is already running around 82 degrees C. I wouldn’t want to see how hot a 460 would get.
so…will ANY better NVIDIA card be able to fit for our laptop? if? not, then the point of having a dedicated card is useless…
No. Not only will the heatsink not line up, asus uses a weird shaped slot so the card? won’t fit.
