Hi, I have super mario all stars, there’s 2 loads and I can save the game but it doesn’t save the physical progress, it creates a save file but won’t actually save where I was in the game. I can load the game fine but it won’t bring me to where I saved, it’s? as if it’s starting a new game all together. Any ideas?

i wonder if someone had ever managed to try removing the battery and replacing the ram memory chip for? a rewritteble rom chip instead sothat your saved data can last forever.

just use tape. soldering is just for holding it in place, and it lasts? much longer than tape.

I’ve cleaned it with both Q Tips and alcohol. But it still doesn’t work, just? shows a black screen when I power it on. Do I need to go inside the cartridge and clean it some other way?
That is a? dirty cartridge issue and not a battery issue. A dead battery will load just fine but always show no saved data. Even if you just played and saved the only option will be “start new game” instead of load.
I’m trying to play Super Mario RPG and the game isn’t working. It’s just a black screen when you turn on the power to the SNES. All of my other SNES games work fine except for Super Mario RPG. Does this mean that the game is dirty or that the battery needs to be replaced? I tried cleaning it with alcohol and Q-Tips and it still will not work, just a black screen when? you power the game on.

Make sure you buy a battery with the legs? already attached. It’s worth the extra dollar or two! I just replaced my Super Mario RPG save battery and had to re-solder the legs on the new battery which was really difficult and dangerous (considering the battery could have exploded/leaked). If you do go my route, make sure you have some soldering experience.
Yes, that will work. Might not last as long because that battery will be closer to death than a new battery but it will? work for a while.
Can I just take? a save battery out of another game that works and replace it with the broken one?
