UNBOXING: Dell Vostro V13 Laptop

www.digitalhomethoughts.com This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the Vostro V13, a shockingly thin (0.65 inches) and light (3.5 pounds) laptop from Dell. This particular model I’m looking at features an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU at 1.3 Ghz, Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit), 2 GB of RAM, a 320 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel Web cam, a 13.3 inch LED-backlit display (1366 x 768), gigabit Ethernet, a VGA-out port, a USB port and a combo USB port. It also has a 34mm ExpressCard slot, a microphone jack, a headphone jack, and a 5 in 1 memory card reader. It has no optical drive. The V13 uses the Intel GS45 chipset, and the Intel GMA4500 GPU. Please rate, comment, and subscribe. Distributed by Tubemogul.

no dvd or? cd drives????
where the heck is the CD reader/writer?
WARNING TO EVERYONE, DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP, OR ANY DELL LAPTOP AT THIS TIME IF YOU VALUE YOUR SOUND! All dell laptops are known to to have DPC latency issues, If you don’t know what that is it is a processing issue which causes the audio to constantly lock up and makes your sound practically? un-usealble. If you want proof simply google search dell DPC latency problems, the threads on these problems are literally 100′s of pages long. It IS a major issue and I would suggest looking elsware.
dont buy it, just dont – save yourself the? damn hassle
I just ordered this computer from dell, does anybody know approximately how long it takes dell to ship there computers??
Yes, it? is.

is the? trackpad multi-touch?
THANKS A TON ! ya i know its a unique query,? but i can’t understand why dell cant mention the dimensions of the packaging as all air shipped packages require volumetric weights (especially for importing) Thanks again !
What a peculiar? question.
You’re lucky I kept the box! It’s 4 inches by 12.5 inches by 18 inches.

Hi Jason, need some info: can? you tell me the box size (L x W x B) in which the dell latitude 13 came ? need this to calculate volumetric weight for import purposes, thanks in advance.
u can buy? it with linux ( which im doing)
not too much for me… of course if you use on your naked leg is gonna be warm but is great for me?
does? it overheat?

Normally installing Vista or Seven on a Dell you don’t need to Insert any Code at all, it is pulled from the hardware.
Still if? you have a Dell OS DVD you should be able to install the OS on any Machine with the key on the bottom, at-least i could to that whit the Vista Business Key of my Dell Precision. (I think it should at-least work for any Dell Machine if you have the Fitting OS DVD from Dell)
I used to cover it up, but the Windows OEM code is? hardware tied to the SKU of this laptop, so unless someone else has V13 – which already comes with Windows 7 of course – they can’t use it. At least that’s what I’ve been told.
- Jason
I want a 3,2Tb SSD, by the way next time cover? up the Windows OEM code doing a 1080p Video
You mean an internal battery that you can’t change easily? Some people might consider it bad – but it’s a side effect of having a laptop that thin. If you want a battery you can swap out easier, you’ll need to? buy a different, thicker laptop.
- Jason
it is bad that? it has that kind of battery?
Could you do a Dell? Inspiron 15?
great? laptop for me, it’s run ubuntu out of the box
I feel like it’s a little too much reach, like the one i have now, i sometimes have to move my screen and lift up my computer just to make sure i’m putting tings in the right spot, where as to the sides it’s a little more simpler,? that’s all.
Is plugging? in the laptop at the back a problem? I sure don’t mind it.
