The flat spring that contacts for the home button mine poped off o need to get one and soldier on can u help i dont know? the part name or how i should reattach it thought of usong a coiled extstension spring .

I recently just did a battery change for the 2nd gen ipod touch and it turns on. The only problem that I am having is the fact it won’t turn on without me keeping the power cable plugged into the ipod. The Usb cable is able to charge the battery but for some reason? it won’t turn on without me leaving the usb cable plugged in. Could I have done the soldering incorrectly?
i removed the 3 solder receiver strips by accident,? what can i do to fix this?

Nope, they are? all different, the ipod touch 2 and 3 LCD’s look the same but have a different connector.

i tried soldering it but it? doesnt hold the solder bubbles and get’s big unlike ur’s how it just holds and i tried for atleast 3 hours everyday and i simply stopped in fear of breaking the mother board or ruining th ebatter i ordered now another thing when u solder is it suppossed to go through those little holes cause what i’ve been doing is basically taping it down with the solder as if it were taped down like there was no solder between the metal piece on batter and bord

@xboxNas sounds like the first time I started soldering.? I watched the “wrong” video over at ifixit online that’s says to heat the top of the cable and pry under it – wrong move – the pad came off. Tony’s method desoldering a battery lead then using a braid on say the volume/power flex cable to desolder the cable prevents the pads from tearing off the board. His advice on a hot iron and getting in and out quick is a must.
