I watched the &quot;wrong&quot; video over at ifixit online that&#039;s says to heat the top of the cable and pry under it - wrong move - the pad came off. Tony&#039;s method desoldering a battery lead then using a braid on say the volume/power flex cable to desolder the cable prevents the pads from tearing off the board. His advice on a hot iron and getting in and out quick is a must.
