Make a 12 VDC power supply for RC LiPo Battery Chargers.
Model airplanes and Helicopters come with battery chargers that usually need to be charged off a 12 vdc power supply. They are rather expensive, so the manufacturers do not include them with your models. So if you want to charge your heli and plane batteries in the house instead of in your car, try making your own supply, as I demonstrate here. Thanks to one of my Subscribers, Bryan, (bjudoka1) for putting the idea in my head. I was thinking that you could also run a wire right out of your home pc and use it at the same time.

this is true, however, something? i would be more concerned about is him calling ground -12vdc, ground is 0vdc with respect to the other rails. if it was -12vdc and yellow was +12vdc it would be a 24v power supply, there is a -12vdc, but that is a different rail.
i conected battery with wires diretcly to the power supply and it seems? to work
He could even said “twelve point million” and he? still would be right.. 12.1 = 12.10000000

I have an AT power supply, it was creating 11.43v from the yellow 12v wire. I wired a 12v globe to one of the black wires and one of the red (5v) wires. I put the multimeter on the 12v and ground wire while the globe was on. it read -12.21 I was wondering why it said negative? and also my lipo charger can handle 12v-17v, would it be ok if? I put another globe on the 5v rail? or is one enough already?

Hm, it should be enough to link the green wire to the case. No need for more than one wire pulled back

i modded a PSU but as soon as I add load (charger @ 1A) it shuts down the PSU, any clues? Its a 400W 17V? @ 12VDC PSU

Yes, it is preferred to wire 2 or more yellow? leads in parallel to carry the voltage.
Does the single yellow wire carry the 10 amp 12 volt load OK? (without heating up?) Could two yellow wires (from different harnesses) be attached together if necessary?
Thanks for posting! Would it? be possible to trim or remove all the excess wiring, so the only wires would be the 12 volt and ground?
Much more than 5 amps? is needed for lots of the chargers these days. Most PC power supplies will give you 10 amps on the 12 volt circuit.
why don’t you just buy a laptop or monitor 12v power? adapter capable of 5A, much lighter than a power supply let alone a 60lb car battery,

nice video.I have bought a f-20 that works with a li po 11.1v battery . the problem is that im trying to charge it with the specified charger but it wont charge only a red light [power] is on .the green light doesnt come on .its a winsky 501bc charger .is there any other way i can charge this? battery . where im from ,i cannot get another battery r charger n to oder it will be very expensive
