Durable Laptop Batteries
Sunforce 1.8-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer Review

I picked these solar panels up last year at Newegg when they had a crazy 2 for 1 sale. .99 for 2 and free shipping. I couldn’t pass it up. They work great. Now I’m ready for when the New World Order hits the electrical grid, lol. I haven’t seen the deal come again. Amazon has them cheap: www.amazon.com

If your fan Amp draw is < about 100mA, it’ll supply enough to run and charge something like small UB1245 battery. Best perhaps, is use 3V toy motor, with resistor to limit current, then a gearbox to swing the fan off a larger motor. Probably only draw something like 40mA, but you don’t need speed as such.
Also, see what the output is from the panel facing the grow lights at night, Volts and mA. May find 3V motor runs with no resistor straight? from panel.
Hope that’s helpful and best wishes.
I never used them on a car battery and bought them just to see what I could do. 1 of them will run my wall clock that takes a AA battery…but that’s no good at night, lol. What I really want them for is to run a simple DC fan to cool my grow lights but at the? same time be powered by by the lights. I did get one to power a computer fan as an experiment but I had the light source very close.
Got 3 of these in parallel as alum converted battery charger. Will also run Bedini SSG type motors, with a front end capacitor in parallel, to charge car batteries with radiant energy. Output here is up to 450mA from those 3. They do fine outside in light rain, but you can see how moisture would get inside through the plastics.
Some folks have said the panel plastics warp in a car..the inside temp of the car needs to be considered? in summer.
Does this have any over charge protection? I have a? truck that I don’t drive much.
Where can I get one not on the internet cheap for? 1.8w solarpanals
i use these to keep my trolling battries in my boat topped up? they work great.
I have the clones from HF; when in my car with even low sun light – I can take the key out and yet the radio will play. Is it bridging some circuit or truly powering? the radio?
harborfright has same ones for 12$? if u use 20% off coupon
These are very weak and can’t power an appliance. I did get them to power a little computer? fan.
how do you hook these up to a normal house appliances, stupid i know , but i want to hook one up to a house fan (not a ceiling fan)…any feed back? accepted
I wonder? if they could be used as a cell phone charger??
These thing do work.
At mu old job, we use them to maintain a charge on batteries for generators located at distant work sites. The ones we have are water? proof. Worth the cost.
Only down side is? you have to keep your car parked in the sun. Bad for the paint.
are? these water proof?
I’m not sure. I? got it to run a wall clock that normally took a AA battery. Not good after dark. I’ll be messing with them more soon.
can it keep a small fan going??
do u like them? i bought one i may go to? the 5watt one
No, these are way too weak. Good for maintaining a car battery but takes days? to charge.
That’s for this man. I was considering on buy this for? my vehicle, now I’m sure it’s a right choice. Thanks again!!
I just bought 2 of the same exact? solar panels for $20, I haven’t tested them yet.
I also have the same exact multimeter. :p
On the website, it says they can be used in temperatures as low as -40.
this is only good if you leave your car sitting for a while. 1.8watts wont help? against 2 50watt headlights, plus the parking lights.,, it’s good for a car parked over a long period.
Also they take a few days to fully charge a battery. I pulled the AA battery out of my wall clock? and one panel ran the clock just fine. Again….no good after dark.
I would get this in case I forget to turn off my headlights again, but the? problem is, I only use my headlights at night, so I don’t really see the point.
under a load the panels do not give of more then 15 volt, but without a load they give of more? then 15 volt.
I have the same panels. I connected 4 of them together in parallel. One of them is just enough to keep the battery from draining empty when the battery is not in use, but these panels are not made for charging a used battery. With 4 of them connected together to? a 12 volt battery I can use some LEDS as garden lights. Had them hanging outside on a wooden plank all year, even with some serious frost, and that was not a problem at all. With a small circuit I want to automate the LEDS. Greets, iT
