In this video, the drive we installed in? the caddy is a hard drive.
You are correct, the primary drive/main drive is what you select in Sony’s site when ordering your Vaio. Thanks!
So the optical drive in this video is the? SSD, what is the other drive? Is that the drive you select on Sony’s website?
Yes, we do.? Please send us an email to info @ newmodeus com so we can email you a link to the product. We are not able to send links via youtube. Thanks!
Hello and thank you for this interesting video. Do you have an exchange? bay for these 2012 models? I am thinking of replacing the optical drive with a ssd to boot and load programmes from. Otherwise I would just have to exchange the sata disk drive.
Thanks for your help.
The new 2012 S Series Models use slot-in/slot-loading optical drives. Replacement of the optical drive is not as easy. Thanks!?
Will this method work for the new S-series? model?
Hi,
would you please test and make a video of making raid 0 of two SSD drives installed on Sony VAIO SA?
If it? works It is also good for your marketing
just notice I forgot to say hello and that comment edition is impossible!
?
anyway, hello
I own? a Sony Vaio VPCSB1S1E, can you confirm that this caddy is the right one for my laptop?
Aside that, do you know if, on this laptop, both interfaces (the one for optical drive and the one for the HDD) have the same data transfer speed?
Hello again and thank you for your reply.
Is it possible for you to make a test and upload a video of it.
I guess it would be good also for your marketing specially if it shows how raid 0 works on these awesome series? of Sony.
I am in Germany and interested to buy for my Sony SA. but first I want to make sure if I can raid two SSDs.
Kind Regards
Hello, we can’t say for certain. We? still have not tried it ourselves on this laptop model.
Hi, Is it possible to raid 0 two SSDs or HDDs after installing the second one? in the caddy?
Yes, we do have a silver version. Thanks!?
If you want to be able to Boot Off the SSD in the caddy, you can do it by changing the “boot sequence” in the BIOS. ? Thanks!
oh and also do you guys have a silver one??
how would i? configure a new ssd i really want to do this would i have to move bios over to the ssd?
The caddy faceplate is very different between the two laptop models. The shape of the faceplate won’t enable you to interchange the caddies between the laptop models. With the wrong faceplate, the Z12 bottom cover won’t snap into? place properly after you install the caddy. Thanks!
Thank you. I had the impression that the size of the caddy is exactly? the same for a Z12 and a SE etc. Only the way they are connected to the frame seems different. Is that right?
No, we have a different caddy for the VPC-Z12. I can’t forward a link on youtube, but? if you search on youtube for “Z12 2nd HDD”, it should be one of the first ones on top. Thanks!
Can this caddy also be used in a? Vaio VPC-Z12 series laptop?
VAiO S Series, Windows 7. After two hour purchaise computer crash and have bluescreen.Every since, this Vaio computer have crash and have had two major hardware malfunctions.? After six month purchaise, this computer have been totall two month out of order( I still do not have my computer back). and I have experience rude Vaio Thailand customer service experience…. If you like to buy a computer for business, think twice,” before considering Sony Vaio S series
Hello,
Yes, the? one for the “E Series” (not SE) is the correct one for your laptop.
Our caddies support SATA III and will support the maximum speed your laptop’s optical drive bay SATA controller will support.
To connect your SATA optical drive externally via USB, see our part number “slimSATA-USB-C16″ at newmodeus. thanks!
