The ground loop isolator did not work for me, we had to remove the ground on? the power supply by using a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter.
just watched your video jeff glad? it worked for you

Great tips Garry!?
I fixed my ground loop noise problem on my laptop by buying an after-market power supply. Specifically the Coolermaster SNA 95. The stock? power supply for my Vaio had a lot of noise (I check using an oscilloscope).
combine harvester ,,,lol?
The? other thing to try is remove your earth wire from your plug its an old dj trick that works well.
You can also buy them off ebay, I got? one for $5 with free shipping.
yes, it does. Another idea is to break the earth loop by using a unearthed socket for your laptop. Or do so on your mixer.
Of cours this is less save, but it is as unsave as using your laptop without an charger.?
Also, that ground loop isolator is reducing your sound quality and isn’t balanced either.
correct me if i ‘m wrong
if your in the usa try radio shack or any car? hifi shop, cost about 10 bucks
where can I purchase one of these, I have a laptop that plays clear through my “Power Amp/Mixer” when running off battery only, but has loud buzzing sound when plugged in? I think this is exactly what I need, although it plays clear with the two other laptops that I ran through the same system? Do you think that I need a new? power cord or one of these? please advise, thanks! Steve
Desktop PC’s line out seems ok, as I pump sound out of line out to a downstairs amp and there is no hum, but my Laptops are a problem,? as markkellr says, it’s the power supply
Batteries? Our D.I. Box is a passive unit Do some of the other ones out there use batteries? Never seen one of those. Our? laptop runs runs 1/8″ cable out of it into Our DI box and 2 more cables out of the DI box into the Mackie mixer. We use 2 channels to get our stereo output. You are right batteries would be scary to use especially if the box was burried in the case under cables and such.
i find as soon as you get any sort of transformer in the circuit? then you get hum problems, because if you run from batteries its usually ok,but batteries are too risky for a live set up )II(
We had trouble with hum from not only our laptops but from the mini HP mounted in our small system. We use a sreteo D.I. box on our big system tp eliminate hum, but our small system is not affected as much from the mini desktop PC permantly mounted in the systems case.I would mention the big system uses a Mackie 1402vlz mixer and the small system? uses a Mackie 808s mixer amp.
so what u need is called galvanic isolation…
u schould have a look at this technic? and see the diffrence of a filter….
galvanic isolation is used by the Behringer Humdestroyer HD400 for exaple… this technic actually isolates two seperate circuits and transmites the audio via air or optocopler.. so it does not effect the sound as like a filter would do…
the result will be elimination of the hum by 100 %, no filtering
hope this helps
i had many problem with hum in my studio, trust
hmm…
i dont think that this is a very good solution, because it is a filter.
the filter will always also effect the sound itself.. also the filter canot actually eliminate the noise but reduce it as a filter works…
so when u want to realy get rid of the hum noise, u need to use a driffrent technic.. sry my english is not so good.. so it is kind of hard to? explain…
i cary on my answer in a second part… (have no letters left)
or use a dedicated audio interface which will give? you much nicer sound than your standard mini jack
no i dont think so, at the end of the day all? wiring in a building arrives at the same main board. the problem is going to be the same in any of the sockets that your comp is plugged into
Just plug in? the computer in a different socket then yoyr soundsystem and gone is the hum. You don´t need a filter
the hum noise that is? heard, this is from the supply current which vibrates (in my case) at 50khz. (uk and and ireland)
Hi dj? freebey, usually there’s not a problem from a pc with hum or noise, its the laptop power transformer that causes the problems, try plugging the nf filter between all your audio connections, and also check that the earth wire from the turntable is connected to your amp ground, best garry entropy
