@Paul. It is stright forward? and easy to replace. You need to replace like for like screens. There re 2 types LED and CCFL. Before buying check your the screen type you need first. Good luck
I have just successfully replaced a LCD panel on my neighbour’s Advent Roma 2001 following this guide. I did have to “improvise” as the panel on this machine was CCFL with the extra 2-wire power lead, but it’s done now – no? cuts, no bruises, especially to my ego !
That means? you have the (more expensive) CCFL version of the display panel. It’s still possible but the white plug at the end of those wires (which provide power for the fluorescent backlight) is pretty fiddly, especially to replace.
I’ve got the advent Roma 3001 and followed all the steps but when it came to taking the screen out it was attached by? red and white cables at the bottom… So I couldn’t get it out? X

I fix laptops for a living and you can never have too many tutorials on stripping them down since there are so many different models and brands….and many ways to break them if opened incorrectly (or unnecessarily undo screws and take longer…not good when charging for time) – So a big thank you to this guy…you saved me a headache when i noticed this model wasnt going to? be a walk in the park

Great guide, saved me a lot of time. No yellow tape holding the cable down in the one I did, double sided tape on the? underside of the cable, but other than that exactly the same.

could you possible do a tutorial video of how to take the Advent Roma 2000 Laptop Heatsink off? and put another one on?. my fan has broken and ive just brought a? new one of ebay and when it arives i want to attatch it myself.
why did you have to change the screen? i have? advent roma 2000!
@goldmercury. Thank you for your comment. There has not been any clear way of replacing the screen on the Advent Romas. We? have posted this video to show people how we have managed to replace one.
