Lenovo IdeaPad U400 Review

Here is Lisa Gade’s video review of the Lenovo IdeaPad U400 notebook with full Intel Core i5 2.4GHz mobile CPU (not ULV). Check out Lisa’s full written review at : www.mobiletechreview.com The aluminum unibody U400 weighs 4.4 lbs. and it’s 0.89″ thick. There’s an Intel Core i7 option, and the notebook has an optical drive. It has a 14″ glossy display, 3 USB ports, HDMI and decent battery life. If you’re looking for mainstream power in a more portable and elegant package, the Lenovo IdeaPad U400 is a solid choice in the 0 price bracket.

Lenovo U400 does it have bluetooth ?
A lot of people are complaining? about this having wireless issues and the trackpad being very bad and becoming a hindrance when typing. I am considering getting this but I have been put off by all the negative reviews.
would you receommend this for school and just watching youtube videos i love how the design is so sleek but i dont want to pay $2000 for a macbook. would it last a day in school mainly typing notes because there are no power outlets at my school so it has to last me around 8 hours ?
you sould do a review on the ideapad u410?
I don’t recommend the U400. Just want to save others who may be considering it. If you’re okay with a 2-hour battery life after you unplug with 100% charge, and if muted colors and grainy screen resolution don’t bother you, go? for it. The battery life was just unacceptable to me especially since the battery is internal. This computer is beautifully designed but not worth it.
Can you review the u410??
how’s? the webcam? I need something amazing like MacBook like
Hey, I think I found the same laptop on Newegg for 600$. Could you please check and see if it’s the same thing with the same tech specs? Thanks!
Here’s the product ID:
N82E16834246323
just? type it in the search bar of the website, it should take you to the laptop straight away
No idea, but its 500 dollars now. One of the key things it has going for it is that its super light weight at 4.4lbs. The discrete graphics is a bonus;? however, this does lead to a lesser battery life.
Why was this laptop worth 800 dollars? I have been searching around for a laptop to buy? and I have seen laptops from ASUS with more RAM and a better processor than this. Not dissing this laptop, if anyone was wondering, but I am curious about why this laptop was 800 dollars?
i have a review to. mine came with a faulty hdd so it? will be some weeks before it gets replaced.
i have a question though. what do you think on the lenovo ideapad u300s or u310 vs macbook air.
if possible make a vid
i have this laptop. (or did becuase the hdd is gettin replaced). you can turn off the trackpad and use a mouse by pressing f6. it is fast and i? have the i5. i got a review on my channel if you would like to check it out. also consider a macbook if possible
It’s on sale? now at my local computer shop for only 599! Getting one today:)
Dear Lisa, is this laptop good for engineering or graphic designer student? If it does, should i go with i5? Btw, a lot of people have problem with touchpad for being too sensitive, is? there a way to solve it like update the drive?
If you want this machine, now’s the time. You can pick? one up on Amazon for $500! Just got one myself and it’s great!
Not straight from factory. You will? have to install the Dell trackpad drivers, since they are from the same manufacturer that builds the Lenovo trackpads. The Dell drivers are way better developed and updated. In fact, a lot of people complain about the trackpad. I would recommend taking a look at the Lenovo u410 (note, the “four ten” not “four hundred” in this video), which is the newest model of the U line and it’s already available. Just to update my comment, I returned my u400.
does the? track pad work well??
500-dollar aluminum ultrabook with? good specs like this is never bad. its intel-i3 version was $800 when launched more than 7months ago.
I just bought one, It will ship Monday and hopefully will receive it Tuesday… I can hardly? wait, and it doesn’t help that I keep playing this video OVER and OVER again =( Oh the agony!
excellent looking laptop & review!!?
u400 is better. my number? one priority is portability and battery life for school. this followed by web browsing, and occassional gaming and programming. this pc has it all. regular ideapads battery life will barely get you 3 hours off the charger.
Also, one more thing. If you plan to upgrade your Lenovo U400 in the future, DO NOT BUY this laptop. It’s nearly impossible to remove the back cover (unlike the MacBook Pro) to get access to RAM and the Had drive. Everyone that tries to open this laptop ends up breaking some? plastic tabs that hold the back cover in place. If you plan to not upgrade it, using it as is, then go for it.
The trackpad is a bit problematic, specially the two-finger scrolling. Some Dell laptops have the same trackpad manufacturer, so I recommend you to download? Dell’s drivers. There’s a thread in a forum somewhere that shows you which drivers to download for the Lenovo U400 trackpad. Unfortunately, I don’t have the link to that saved (you can always Google it). Once you get it fixed with Dell’s drivers, it is pretty good, considering it’s a glass trackpad.
Great review. You actually reviewed the product instead of just? selling it.
Thinking about buying one… Trackpad? any issues? How is the battery btw?
