Spot on re the lens choice – for sure use only pro Nikkor lens on this. I had a Sigma 70-200 in the bag at the time I got my D800 and it really isn’t up to the high end? glass the D800 needs – that went on eBay and I bought the 70-200 VRII which is tons better. Good review.

Fantastic review of the features. I Just ordered one with a 24-70. I can’t afford an ultra-lens yet, so I’m going to shoot a Sigma 10-20? in DX mode. I just hope I don’t get a body with the left focus problem.

Nope, didn’t hit any of the issues that are reported here and there, and? no, haven’t gone hand son with the 5DmkIII so can’t comment.

I have watched endless video’s about the D800, and this is the first one that shows some images that? impress me with the fine detail and image quality, and make me want to buy the camera, so thank you for that, did you notice any of the bad issues with the camera that i keep hearing about ? like paint coming off of buttons, green screen, out of alignment view finder, focus point issue, bla bla bla ? ,,,,,, also have you ever used the Canon 5D mark lll and if so how do the images compare ? thanks

There is so many on the market and I don’t really? know much about what to look for. The price is not really important but I am total noob in photography. Please help lol.

So what your saying is the image in the veiw finder dosn’t change when you adjust the F-stop and Apature settings. Although I never have any problem fitting over 500+ RAW pictures on my 8MB memory card. That is more than I? will shoot in a year. I get awsome quality photos from it. I really just lack experience to know whats what I guess.
I did know how to use them at one point but I always had the visuals, and a color meter, with my old SLR to guide me. But when? I upgraded to didgital, I forgot how to,especially because I have to use the same wheel to do both aperture and f-stop. Lack of experience is my problem, took a college class on all that stuff, but I don’t get out enough to take lots of pictures. On the up side I can take over 500? RAW pictures with that 8MB memory card which is more than I would ever shoot in one year!
