those have low current, not low voltage. the voltage doesn’t matter? so much. for example when you pass a comb over your hair, you can generate thousands of volts (static electricity), but that electricity have really low current.
you would need to add more copper and zinc ‘cells’, that would increase voltage, but it would not increase intensity or current, so you wouldn’t run motors and? other things that require higher energy.
for that you would need to increase the the copper and zinc material in each cell that is in contact with the liquid. but for move a motor you would need too much material.

Battery technology is at a pivotal point. Invent a battery that holds a large charge, doesn’t? need charging for 7 days and is small. Then the electric car, truck, bus, train and plane will push the internal combustion engine in the scrap yard.
InsaneWG is right, copper is positive and zinc negative charge. Acid batteries produce DC, not AC. The? normal alcaline batteries are acid-powered too
I dont remember, I think it was near 1.2 volts. but the power was very low, you can only light? leds or very low consuming devices like a calculator.
