Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad X230 laptop with the new Intel 3rd gen Ivy Bridge Core i5 CPU. This is the follow up to the well received ThinkPad X220 and it has a 12.5″ display, the usual excellent ThinkPad keyboard and it weighs 3 lbs. Our model has a sharp 1366 x 768 display and a 320 gig 7200 RPM hard drive. This notebook is for road warriors who need more expandability and power than an Ultrabook offers. I surrendering a brand new i7 x230T with ips and touch screen. The ONLY reason i’m getting rid of it is because there’s no touchpad(there is a very poor clickpad). It’s a shame and sham that something that costs $2400 (this has 500G@7.2K, 16Gram) does not have a reliable and comfortable,built-in navigation device.I would add that the new keyboard is not very? nice(keys are spaced too far apart for a touch typist). If you chicken-peck-type and u will never use the built in input devices, go for it.

Why is it so? bulky??
My thoughts as? well, the moment the video was loaded… =)

My X230 tablet doesn’t look like the one in the video. the Fn key + space bar doesn’t do anything.?
Hi LordDestros. Evualuation entities receive pro-types and? and actual model before making official launch of a product. Best Wishes.

Thank you for your video. I made my choice based on this video. I went with the leveno after I looked at the sony in store and hated the display because I could see the small lines…even on the higher resolution display. the leveno is rugid, flat black, very froogle appearance. I definitely I could drop this thing a ton of times and be ok. The display is amazing. I see no reason to pack anymore pixrls into this thing. I just wish I could shove a i7 QM in it
?
Im on this laptop right now…! Skype? is cool with webcam and the TwistScrean
Well I’ve got a new laptop now, I? think its too late…
So then just how much of an exaggeration is that? This model has barely been out for? 3 months and you stated you’ve been using it for 4 months. In any case, I’d suggest a reformat if it didn’t behave that way when you first received it.
It’s called the uses of Hyperbole, showing? how shit it is.
Huh? It hasn’t even been on the market for 6 months (let alone 1 year) and the reviewed model features Ivy Bridge CPU’s. How exactly could you have left it in? your room for 1 year without touching it and how exactly does it perform slowly?
It’s really slow, like toaster slow after 4 months of using it. My school gave me the same one left it in my room for? 1 year without touching not worth it.
Why? is that?
I’ve been using my thinkpad x200? for 4 years and it’s still going strong. I’ve been thinking to get the x230t…would love to see a review…I hope you can get your hands on one
Funny thing about Lenovo.? Aside from the looks of the device, It is a very good laptop for the money if you are planning to use? that for work or a personal computer at home. A friend once told me that the best laptops? that lasts a long time are the ones you don’t hear too often on the media, Emachines, Toshibas, ect.
We have? some of the new Lenovo laptops at school. Works good for school work and all.
yeah, illustrator? and photoshop on 12,5″…. its really great… _:)
WORST LAPTOP EVER!?
Not really. We’re reaching a point where even entry-level laptops can handle more than the average user throws at it. A high school student won’t use a laptop for more than a few essays. It’ll be roughly the same for a college student, plus maybe some graphing in excel or something. My 5 year old x61t does fine even by today’s standard.? A couple PowerPoints here, some Firefox tabs there.. Microsoft Journal in the forefront.. no problem. Games and media on the other hand require more power.
