The new Vaio S (as of June 2012) takes a maximum of 12gb, so you can use? an 8gb module.

Thank you for this informative and helpful video… I upgraded my? VPCSE1BFX/S model with Kingmax DDR1333 4G memory module successfully but the useable memory was indicated as only 3.92G… Refer to Microsoft website knowledgebase article 978610 for advice that helped me increase my useable memory to 6.42G. You have to disable maximum memory using msconfig as suggested but you have to re-enable it by using Windows Safe boot mode by pressing F8 key at bootup.
Do you know if this works for the E series? I can’t figure out where to access my RAM from on this laptop and I’d like? the see how many slots I have open before buying RAM. All I know is that I currently have 4GB installed. I can’t find any videos or instructions either.

You can? remove the battery…. Press the BLUE notch which u can see beside the battery at 1:20

I just installed an 8 GB module and the laptop (VPCSE series) sees 12 GB total. The memory performance on the windows experience index went up from 5 to 7. I used a crucial? DDR3 1333 SODIMM 204 (CT 102464BF1339).
Hello, i have a question.? So i have a Sony Vaio VPCSC31FMs and the laptop carries 4 gigs of ram. Does this video show me how to add the other 4 gigs? So in total i will have 8 gigs of ram.

So i installed 4 GBS of ram on my s series.Together i got 8 GBS. PC sees 8 GBS but right next to it.It says 2.42 GBS use able. So any idea how to get it to use 8? GBS.
