Use a Group 24 marine deep cycle battery for best results of course. EverStart Marine 24DC – (as of 07/01/2011) Battery terminals not needed if you use a marine deep cycle. They normally have small lugs with wingnuts included. Parts: Marine battery box – .00 12v accessory socket – .00 ATO fuse holder – .00 Two battery terminals – .00 (not needed if you have marine batt.) I needed to run a portable DVD? player at a community fair without an outlet. This worked great for me. I plan on trying the same setup with a power inverter.

Put the fuse on the red/positive side.

Do you have the? battery in the box backwards?
I did the? same thing for camping except I put 3 lighter plugs in. For lights I used yellow LED vehicle running lights with 15 ft cords on each, nice glow around camp and the LEDs last forever. I also have a LED trouble light I can use for brightness.
I doesn’t matter which side I install the fuse holder, right? The black terminal will not reach the battery? but will if I attach the fuse holder to it.

Could you use this to jump your car with a male to male cord by plugging it into your cigarette lighter?
If? not it might be worth rigging up some alligator clamps so you could use it in an emergency.
