Super helpful thank you! This thing is a real annoying? piece of work to take apart.
can u upgrade the cpu on this laptop? or is it only compatible with? the n930?
i ask this because i have a dv6 and i opened? it..cleaned the vents but it wont boot..maybe i have to clean the cpu to remove all the dirt and apply new thermal paste on it to make contact with the fan.correct me if im wrong..
Ok..what i understand is the lack of thermal paste that is missing on the cpu that allow the cooler to work well?is? that it?
so we buy a new? one
Turns out I didn’t re connect the monitor back up correctly- the wire? on the left side was not ‘snapped’ in all the way so I would just suggest unplugging and reconnecting because it worked for me!

I have a question that hopefully you could nswer: I took my dv6-2151cl apart and replaced the cooling fan. I put it back togeter and, although the laptop turned on, the monitor is not working- just a black screen. I tried to check in this vid all the right wires I was supposed to have hooked back into the laptop for the monitor and it loks correct except of course i have no picture on my screen.? Any suggestions anyone!? Thanks in advance!!
and how much? would i pay for the repairment
No?
Btw, I? have an HP Dv6 6135dx.
There’s gotta? be another way to get to the fan. I don’t need to replace mine, I just want to make sure it’s not getting dusty. I smoke (A lot) and would just like to keep it clean. It doesn’t make any loud noises or nothing and runs just fine ATM, but I want to keep it that way. I spray duster in the vents but don’t think that’s enough for some reason. I undervolted and my temp never reaches over 65 and that’s while playing games like borderlands 2, diablo 3, and Skyrim. I just want to look at
I found this video AFTER I went through and did? it. Very nice though. Where do you get the replacement fan heatsink for it?
and u took laptop to 7000 parts just to get to the fan, yeah im not doing that? couldnt u just go from the other side to avoide removing the motherboard, screen and keyboard…
how much ram do u have, and btw? my dv6 is kinda different
My dv6-3052nr over heats like crazy. it didnt used to do this. it? will overheat then eventually power off. what do you think is the cause of this?
This video was a ton of help thanks so much. I do have a question? though. After reassembling my laptop everything was fine except for the screen. There is a few red lines that are on the screen from top to bottom when the screen is black and whenever the screen is white everything it blue. Any suggestions as to how I could fix this?
