Some light paint rollers!
book shelf project 1 ~ striatic {notes}

one of our bookshelves, it’s got plenty of stuff in it.
it’s an Ikea Expedit that we bought for its large square shelves that work well to contain our oversized textbooks and graphic novels
our paperback and hardcover novels are in another bookcase

I have spent the past couple of weeks feverishly working until the wee hours of the morning on my computer. Cobbling together bits and pieces, chunks of code, widgets, doodads and other things necessary for a project. Enough! Yesterday, I decided that I needed to get out of the house and go shoot some photos. The weather was perfect. Nice skies, interesting clouds, comfortable temperature. Sometimes you just have to recharge your batteries. Step outside and play. Let your mind unwind so it can start fresh the next day.
It feels good to go play. You should try it. I shot this in the back of Epcot’s United Kingdom pavilion. Mary Poppins was on the other side of the building. It’s a shame she didn’t come over to visit.

Did you make these?
How?
badass
Seriously cool
I can feel the force…
made them from some cold cathode lights and some paint rollers!!! (and some battery’s, wire, and lots of insulation tape!!!!!!!)
This is very cool!
Funky
so im thinking of using cathodes too. but do you still need to use the inverter that is connected to them?
To be honest I’m not too sure, I think an inverter converts AC power to a DC power (or the other way around). I have used them with my tools because it wasn’t too much trouble keeping them!!!! – Just needed a little more insulation tape!!!
It converts DC to AC
Wow innovative. Had a simular idea, just wasn’t too sure how to execute it. Would still love to try!
i really like this shelving unit!
it’s really very good ~ but it does waste some space if you are going to use it for small books
you can see here that it leaves quite a bit of room at the top of most of the shelves, where a traditional bookcase would have shelves of varying heights to avoid this problem
by doing away with the different shaped shelves it does take on a very striking grid pattern, however
This is very cool. (also love your notes)
This is cool. I was thinking of getting Expedit but now the plan revolves on Billy.
Wow that looks really cool with the notes on each square, like Metahari said.
Nice picture. I have Billy myself on two walls (!)
The Expedit makes a good grid for a square photo and it looks like it helps to make order out of chaos.
chaos is right.
we don’t have much space so that’s about as good as it gets.
re: dianetics sandwiched by skepticism.
haha!
before i sold them all, i had a necronomicon sandwiched with hand-me-down bibles. justincase, y’know?
you have to keep your bases covered.
you know .. in case xenu comes to h-bomb you or something.
gotta love the look of organized chaos
gotta love the look of organized chaos
it looks organised?
Me gustaría tener ese orden!
Two copies of No Logo?
Naomi Klein’s bank manager will be pleased with your household!
one bought, and the other as a gift.
i’ve also fences and windows.
Fair, fair.
As long as it wasn’t a case of buying the second reprint as well or something silly
well organized

is that sarcasm?
it is organised muchbetterly now.
makes a cool photo
makes a cool photo
thank you.
i’m glad i took a picture because i vow never to be that disorganized again.
but sometimes mess is fun to look at, especially when it is neatly divided into compartments.
i love this

Cool angle! I need to get out and shoot pics, too. It’s been too long….I’ve been running all over town…but the weather has been uncooperative for any great shots….rain, strong winds, skies with not even a speck of blue….some days it’s around 20 degrees. Ugh. I’m ready for spring already.
It’s Spring in Florida. Come on down.
What do you do there at Walt Disney?
I don’t work there. I just have an annual pass and visit.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] Ah!! Are you the one who was walking around taking pictures of the various photographers yesterday and the last couple of days…?
No, I’ve spoken to various photographers, but didn’t take any photos of them. I was there yesterday at Epcot and spoke to photographers stationed behind Spaceship Earth and another nice guy by the bridge leading from United Kingdom over toward Paris.
If it’s someone who’s been there taking pics of photographers for a couple of days in a row, it isn’t me.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] Good for you because I was just about to give you the beat down!! HAAAAAAAA!! There is a reason I don’t post my personal information and pictures on here and I would be fuming mad if someone else decided to have such a lack of respect for my personal preferences and do so anyway…
I was complaining to my leader about it and he said that several others had complained about it too… My only experience with the guy was yesterday when he walked up to me and without speaking a word, just took a picture of me. Rrr!! I’m telling you now – that is unacceptably rude and ill behavior!!
I didn’t think it could be you – most flickrites on here seem to be very nice but there have been a few who seem to have no regard for my desire to simply remain incognito and I find that frustrating. Glad to know it wasn’t you. =D
I wonder why in the world someone wants pictures of different PhotoPass photographers? You’re right, I’d be a little annoyed by that behavior, too. I have very few candids in my collection. The one I posted of that couple yesterday was from 2007, but I’d be hard pressed to find something else like that in my collection.
If you’re working Epcot sometime in the next couple of weeks, I’ll be happy to say hello. It seems like a good time of year to shoot over there.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] They move me around alot so I never really know where I’m going to be – I just happened to be there yesterday.
That’s what we couldn’t figure out – why in the world someone would even care… Rrr!! To me, it’s so much more than just an annoyance which is why I’m so aggravated about it when people do that.
I wonder if that person is posting the pictures online? Makes you wish for some facial recognition search so you could find him. I don’t get it, though.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] He’d better not be – that’s cause for someone to hear from more than me… We’ll just say it that way. =D
Angie: Don’t you have different uniforms for different parks? Seems confusing if you don’t know where they’re going to put you.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] No. Thankfully, most photopass is the same outfit and when we do wind up in a different outfit, it’s just a minor change of the shirt usually – which is a "stop by costuming" on my way out. Disney is really good about that kind of stuff…
OK. I was thinking about those Main Street costumes with the big white socks vs. the vest I see at Animal Kingdom.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbeem] Oh yea, forgot about those… I’ve never gotten to do that. =D
