ram max relies on o/s not the hardware as? such except number of slots of course. according to crucial this is 4gb for 32 bit vista /win 7 on this machine.

No,? if you have 5630 you can use up to 4GB MAX, 2g in each slot.

you may use 1GB+1GB or only 2GB in the same socket .

Now I have one Socket? with 2GB and it works fine with Windows Seven ultimate and Snow Leopard

hello, im owner of an aspire 5630 who has got 1 GB of Ram (512Mb in each sockect) and i want like to upgrade it to 2? Gb (its the maximum), but i have a doubt: can i move the 2 ram bars to one socket,, and purchase a bar of 1 GB RAM and put it in the empty socket? thx in advance

Hi ,

in Seven 64bits it uses 4G? m, in Seven 32bits it uses 32 bits , in Snow Leopard it uses 4G, did not tested in Ubuntu.

The motherboard of Aspire 5634 WLMi mounts 945 PM and it cant handle the whole 4gb that can be installed. Im I wrong?

How did you get the 4Gb to be used by windows (if you did)?
I own a 5634? and not even running linux 64bits am I able to get more than 3.2Gbs….
