I am curious, did you try rendering anything after this? Performance is an obvious? concern.
Uh even if you replaced the gpu, you would need a custom Vga bios, you would have to undervolt, and you would need drivers for that? GPU for the OS of your choice, that is far beyond your capibility, so I would stick to overclocking for now.
This is actually a good solution, it is more surgical than the oven method, but its definitely a last resort option, this should only be used with mobile gpus that are known to benifit from this? method, and there is still a degree of luck.
Looks like I just? fixed my xps m1530 with the torch method. I did the oven baking method on an xps m1330 and it worked, but took 4 tries. The oven method requires complete dissasembly, whereas here you only need to pull off the back panel and remove the fan/heatsink. Brilliant, thank you!
I want to know can you replace MB with int. graphic card? with non-int. graphic card ?
Tried this and it didn’t? work!
I’ll let you? know.
hi, first of all my video was originally for entertainment only! if you are not comfortable using a flame please don`t do it. you also can try it with a strong hair dryer or if you have a heat gun that would be the best option. the flame need to be held 5-10 sec. over the GPU in a circle motion.? hope this was helpful for you, good luck!
OK. I’m willing to try this. But how long do you hold the flame to the GPU? What exactly are you looking for that? clues you in that you’ve held the torch to the GPU long enough?
hey i play a lot of wow and im desperate to play wow but my laptop is a dell inspiron i can play for some time but then the screan turns black and now i can go inside but the whole screen keeps changing colors but all crazzy and i was in the middle of a boss i was so mad can i still do that to fix it? i have all those tools and i can do it right now! i must know!!! i cant let my wow time pass by with? out me playing it D:
I just? did this with a heat gun. About 15 seconds on each chip. Started up great! So my $50 Dell off Craigslist ended up being a good buy for now lol!
This worked for me!! I used a hair dryer on high for 15 seconds about 1/2 inch? away on GPU and other chip. Thanks so much for making this video. total time: 20 minutes. I feel like I just saved hundreds of dollars.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME….I GOT MY NERVE UP TO PUT THE TORCH ON A LITTLE LONGER AND HEAT BOTH PARTS NOT JUST? THE NVIDIA GRAPHIC CARD AND WOw the thing turned on….my xps ,1330 brought for used parts on ebay for next to nothing…!!! u are the best i watched every damn video on you tube but no one said to heat both parts….thank u soooo much….i’m beyond excited i did it myself
I love you, your accent, and everything about? this video. Great job.
My fix, combined with the other one, lasts for one week one with the laptop running at least? 12h / day.
It could last for months or days…. I was able to save this laptop? for 1year,then I replaced the main board. We still using it. Good luck!
How long will? it last
thx Pal, now my M1530? works again! Have combined your fixing with this one: (watch?v=wI_gh2kajUA / dell xps m1530 perminant blackscreen FIX) . I also underclocked my GPU with Rivatuner and installed i8k fan control. Hope it will last another couple of years, will be enough for my office purposes.
This is just amazing
After 3 years of intense use my dell xps m1530 decided to stop working, after hours of searching and various trubleshooting i thought all hope was lost, then I found this video. In the lack of a blowtorch i tried to use a hairdryer or whatever its called (im Norwegian), I was able to use the hairdryer for about 30 seconds on max heat, then that too quit for the day. Now the PC works like a charm again (also the hairdryer works again). Thanks alot? for this video!
So…the failing GPU prevents the machine from POSTing? Is that’s what is happening? You’d figure you’d at least get a beep code or something…
(having the? same or very similar issue)
It worked for? me, but just for some hours. Know i have the same problem
awesome!!? it really worked!!
Listen guys this works. The majority of those HP DV6000s? that are out there with nothing on the screen this solution will work for.
It works haha…I used my hair dryer wind it like a minute!?
technique worked for me using my old trusty? commercial heat gun. applied heat only to the nvidia chip (on the right with the memory slots on the left.) I applied heat to the chip for about 50 seconds.
