HP Pavilion DV2000 Disassembly
Jon disassembles a malfunctioning laptop. See his tools, methods, and pet rabbit! This is my first go at making a video like this and already I see things that I will do better in the future. The repair is continued in the reassembly video, found here: www.youtube.com For those of you who are working on this model and need additional help, the service manual can be found here: h10032.www1.hp.com Though be careful, depending on the exact model you have, numbers and locations of screws can differ from what is shown in the service manual

I removed both of my ram sticks now my computer beeps 4 time, is this a sign that the ram modules are no good or simply the fact my computer is letting? me know a piece of hardware is missing?
I tried using one ram stick and the beeping has stopped, but the screen remains black.
Any suggestions?
click the switch on? top of your mouse pad, there is a small rectangle with an indent, this shuts off the mouse pad/turns it on (stupid spot to have it)

Thanks!!?
I, too, need to replace the power jack on my HP Pavillion DV2000 Other than protecting and backing up the data by pulling? out the hard drive and backing it up, can I start right from removing the DVD drive, or would I need to start earlier in the process? Thanks so much!

Do u know where I could find a schematic? or something that shows proper screw placement. I mixed mine up, because I didn’t keep track of it.
what if I replace the motherboard again the after a long run? the same proplem comes again.
Can you make a video where? you put back the computer?
damn dude…this is straight? up trade secrets ur giving away right there.
Great video. I have some bad news. With this particular model, the motherboard is not the problem. Best buy told me it was the motherboard. I got a 2nd opinion. It was the video chip that had to be reflowed. It cost me $120 to have it done. Same problem occured again, then they charged me $65 for a new video chip. There was a class action? lawsuit for models dv2000 and dv6000.They heat up fast
how do i remove? the lid
Is the video card? welded onto the motherboard?
hello greetings, buy HP Pavilion g4, pre-installed Windows 7 Starter, which is too simple, and look for a cereal and I could upgrade to ultimate, one? day I found a system called windows8 download and install it, but it is in English, which do not quite understand and are not registered and I can not install the updates, so I can not switch to Spanish and try to restore the factory system, but disappeared recovery Manager, please re-install and recovery Manager?
make sure the cpu is lock..i mean? the screw is all the way lock clockwise..it happens to me and i turn the screw al thwe way clockwise and it works perfectly.
nice video you? posted and thank you..i did replaced my laptop motherboard same model with yours and i saved a lot..now it looks like it’s a new one again..thanks again and you’re great.
Good video, I put the laptop back together and I have 2 extra screws lol. It’s working though. One other comment, I don’t think you mentioned that there are 2 other screws on the right side holding the screen to the? base assembly.
tried to replace my? hardive with another sata one but the interface seems? to be the wrong way around any ideas
