Making an 18650 Personal Vaporizer Box Mod Part 1 Schematic and How it Works

Before showing the making of my 18650 Box Mod, I cover the schematic and how the personal vaporizer works. I also show the AwesomeVapor Ego, a great PV that I bought from awesomevapor.com — great folks, excellent service, I highly recommend them, and their Ego. All the parts used in my mod came from: Radio Shack – the box, pushbutton, and battery holder (that I cut up for piece parts) – I could have gotten these from madvapes but happened to stop by my local Radio Shack for the fun of it. madvapes.com – the LED, resistor, battery-atomizer connector batteryjunction.com – They have a deal on 2 protected 2400maH 18650 batteries and charger. Wow! Target – Hot glue Harbor Freight – JB stick Epoxy putty Be extremely careful working with lithium ion batteries. ALWAYS use a PROTECTED Lithium Ion battery so that it will not overcharge or under-volt because they will explode and burn. Recharge these batteries outside on concrete under constant supervision in case they explode and burn while recharging. Unplug the charger and remove the battery(ies) as soon as charging is complete. Please do NOT attempt to make a pv e-cig mod unless you are an experienced electronic technician or a well-seasoned electrical-mechanical engineer. Each solder connection is critical, make it mechanical and then solder. Always remember, exploding lithium ion batteries can burn down your house and/or kill you and the ones you love!!! This video is for educational curiousity interest only. Mod at your …

Most certainly it’s dementia. ?
lol you don’t know much about “old” people, we invented the word? mode, as in mods and rockers. know all kids today. look it up kid, the mod/rocker wars from the 60s. In Britain. so us OLD 1 foot in the grave people beenn usin it a loong time. just look up mods vs rockers 1960s. I will tell you the “components” of IT fashion, rock and roll, and attitude. we just did the fashion part in the USA we didn’t get the rest of it, guess it was a Brit thing, or dementia was setting in on us old people lol
do i need to put resistor even if i dont put? LED ???
2010′s: Old people begin to use? the word mod. Awesome, the future rules!
Can you please show what you did with the atomizer, the contact part should have insulation to separate the positive (center)? from the ground (negative), you showed the center, but did not cover how the insulator go around the center part of atomizer.
Thanks
Wow!! I wish I were as knowledgeable? as you. Thanks for sharing.
My husband dropped his ego twist and now it is not? working. He is wondering if you do repairs for people? His email is grizzleyman_Matty@yahoo.com
hey very nicely put together video, reminded me of electronics class almost :] but my question is, could I just use a regular old 9 volt battery??
that’s what i thought… nichrome huh…? its pretty much inert to anything… thanks a ton… back to the lab for me
The wire in the atomizer/cartomizer portion of an e-cigarette is nichrome or kanthal wire. Either one will work. It is the same type of wire used in electric? heaters and toasters. Cheers!
i love the way you build the electric vaporizer [cigarette]… just one question… since the atomizer combusts e liquid substance, what kind of wire is used, i’m planning to make one myself because i’m tire of buying and buying due to breakdowns that i could? not explain.. i hope you reply soon
thanks again
Watts is the heat, Voltage x Amperage. You could raise the voltage or? lower your resistance to increase the amperage throughput. Just remember that whatever you use, you have to ensure that it can indeed provide the voltage at the instantaneous amperage (C-rating) that you are trying to make it deliver, especially if it’s a lithium battery.
COuld one? use a 7.2 volt battery to increase the overall heat of the vaporizer?
school of vapor. wish I had the same amount of time as I did in school? tho.
Reminds me of my HVAC classes. I will admit I miss school.? Just too bad I couldn’t go back and do it again.
Oh, what I ‘d give for you as a neighbor…and I don’t like neighbors!!! Jan…you are the Queen of the chaulk board…Thank you for your knowledge and for instructiong us laymans(I’m only speaking for myself)See you? in the Vapehaze girl.
Thanks. Sure, you can ask me anything. I’m not on my computer everyday, but I’ll get back with you asap. Remember to use only protected batteries. ? Or, you could build a puck mod that uses nimh, you might want to check out puckecigs dotcom for details on that and then see my puck mod video too. Cheers!
@steeljan Your DIY box mod video is the most concise, educational, safest vid on the net. Thanks for posting, keep up the great work and thank you for inspiring me to build a box mod.? I got all my parts at the Shack last night and am chomping at the bit to get started. If it’s okay with you, I’d like to ask you questions during my build. Please let me know if you’re alright with that. Being a career welder, I’m good with soldering but I’m not as knowledgeable when it comes to electronics.
He’s probably not scared of the voltage, you’re right, it’s extremely low. He’s probably scared of the huge current load and risking the battery exploding if the protection? circuitry fails to work properly if there’s any sort of short-circuit in his mod.
There’s nothing to be afraid of. This is the? lowest voltage. It hardly even gets warm.
I wish you were my aunt?
thanks!? = )
You are to cool.?
Your? awesome!
youre awesome. doing this right now haha.
