Toshiba Satellite Disassembly to CLEAN CPU VENTS / FAN

In this video I clean the dust out of a Toshiba Satellite laptop because the exhaust vent was 100% blocked by dust causing the laptop to over heat and shut down. Please send me a message or check out www.FastVideoTech.com If you plan on working on your laptop, please take notes and take your time. This video makes things look very easy. Some connectors will fall apart easier than they will disconnect and can take several minutes to slowly work apart. It is VERY easy to break small components that are expensive to replace. Depending on your individual skill level you may have more of a chance of breaking something than fixing something so if your laptop is important to you, please let an experienced technician handle it. I have over 10 years experience working with computers. I will try my best to answer questions but please keep them related to the video and the work being done. Thank you for watching! No wonder I could? never figure out how to take the bottom off! DUH. Well at least I know how now. Great little video on how to disassemble and clean your Toshiba laptop. Thanks.
my laptop got so hot the charger tip melted in it? and now it will not take a charge
What type of thermal paste did? you use?
To remove those dust layers out of the ventilation system, I advise all to just use a strong vacuum-cleaner right on the fan. It works everytime, and the fan is working awesomelly.?
This all looks grand until he gets inside and starts unplugging cables and buses etc. At that stage I think that maybe dropping the €60 for a professional? might be the best option.
It was most definately not a pocket knife. Whatever you do, do this properly and not with some make shift tools you find around your room. I unfortunately did no realise this until a considerable amount of blood had left my thumb.
While I’m here? I must also confess this is not the first time I’ve inappropriately used a pocket knife and only just lived to tell the tale.
Cleaned it a year ago, I was having all kindas of blue screen issues. I put my system back to factory settings cause they said it was a virus. After I cleaned it, it was so fast. The only thing is I ended up with? more screws left..lol It works fine now.
What is the blue plastic tool you use to pry thing apart with?
my? laptop got so hot, that i could burn my fingers while typing.. no joke -.-
and often the laptop shutdown because the risk catching fire !
and i got fucking tired of it, so i broke the fucking plastic cover that blocked the fan.
so now all the heat can come out.
now my laptop is very cool to the touch.
Yes you can. Just use your smartphone to open this youtube video and work on? your laptop
phew…. Did that to my notebook to change out the thermal paste…? Oh my god that was hard. It took me ~2 hours to change it out! I had to take the whole notebook apart! holy crap!
Toshitba sucks hard. Choose notebook brand and the model carefully.? For all good laptops you will only need to remove 3-4 screws and you can clean the cpu fan and vents in 3-7 minutes…
fuck it,im gona try it? lol!
I can’t believe i called a technician to do this, who ended up breaking the plastic above my CD Drive… Fucking knob…. Would’ve been better if i’d done? this
Yeahhhh… Im just gonna get some pipe cleaners and dust? off and work some magic from the outside. 10 mins tops.
I disassemble my machine and then does not give me the vido and? LED turns hhd … that could have happened writeme misael2305@gmail.com
But can i watch this video while im? doing this to my laptop?
Depends on the laptop.Same are easier to clean but this video confirmed that it’s impossible for a average person like to clean? their laptop…
I had a Toshiba Satellite LD350 that overheated and BSOD’d? on a constant basis, not only because of the trapped dust that couldn’t be removed, but also bc it suffered from chronic fan failure. Laptops are a boon and very costly to replace every 3 to 5 years, so I don’t do them anymore.
well that looks? like a total pain in the ass
OK! good video and shows that there might be much dust, but id say, its not 10years skills. Don’t clean fan like this, someone could brake fan blades trying this – open cover and clean then. Also when putting termal paste – try to apply paste only a cooling area, not all over the cpu. Ive seen many laptops, cleaned by novices, and area near? cpu covered with paste…
FALSE. If there are same? much dust like in the video, u cant get it out + u still need to change termal paste (dust means hot CPU -> termal paste will dry out)
