Why did samsung put DVD recovery disc in package while not providing the DVD-recorder in laptop? Should they put? USB-recovery flash instead of disc?

I much rather have something with the tad thicker chassis around the whole laptop, to get more connectivity options, even if that means making the laptop a little heavier. Either way, Samsung did an amazing job on this.?
