How do? I upgrade the CPU and processor??
So i bought a Hard drive With 500GB and The Exact Same RAM as yours.? My cousin was the last owner of my dell inspiron 1501 and i got it and it asked to enter a HDD Password. i dont know it. Not even her. She said she never had that problem before. So i decided to upgrade it i got the keyboard and Hard Drive and RAM. So i dont want to save any of her files she doesnt need them anymore. Do i NEED that CD. or can i just restart the entire system. And what is that CD for anyway
What Is The CD For? Not the? windows. The other one
thumbs up if? you’re watching this on an inspiron
On top of? all, upgrading (HDD/RAM/etc) 1501 is expensive than buying a new laptop, so please do your math before doing that.
Sorry for the? delay! I don’t think that is possible. You can’t find a 4GB 200pin RAM in first place, and even if you will I doubt if that works. I did search for 4GB 200pin compatible memory card, but could not find one. Try it out and post an update. Thx.
My question wasn’t answered “Is it ok to install 4 GB MHZ of RAM to one side and 4? GB to other side?”
Is it ok to install 4 GB MHZ of RAM to one side and 4 GB to other? side?
for the inspiron 1501 do? you have xp 64 bit or 32 bit and how can i get one for my 1501
This is a great video. Thank you very much for taking the time to post it. You are a very good teacher.? Some people know what they know, but you know how to transfer it from your mind to others. Super great job. Thanks again….
sehkara, i have a? question, i have this same laptop but i want to replace the video card, is it possible?
can? i upgrade the video card too?
Already did.? You’re wrong.
Google? it
Not? true.
That’s actually not true. Dell says it “supports” a maximum? of 2 GB RAM because they simply did not test it with more. I know for a fact that the machine can take 4 GB and it was confirmed by numerous sources that it will actually take 8 GB! So if you upgrade the CPU well past what the machine “supports” (such as AMD Phenom II quadcore) you should see that it works well (despite what Dell tells you).
It really DOES recognize? it, but it doesn’t utilize it.
Good point!! I had the same impression until I added 4GB, in fact I covered that in the video, if you take a look till the end. After adding 4GB, I could see 2.62 GB in system properties and you may know that remaining is reserved for system itself. But yes it reserved 1.38GB for system which is very high. However point is that? it did recognize 4GB RAM.
Dell inspiron 1501 will work with up to 2 GB RAM….the other 2GB will be useless…..nice video? though
Thanks for the response. I’ll? look into it.
4GB RAM cost me $45. You may search in amazon.com for your model. This comment section is not letting me to paste? the web links!!
How much did that ram cost you? Can you link me to some? compatible ram?
Thank? U man.
You can call me just Sekhar and sorry for the delay in this response. Here is the list of mandatory drivers that you will need after OS installation. But keep in mind that these are specific for Inspiron 1501; you may lookup for similar drivers for ur model. I’ve to squeze this to fit in max limit allowed here.. Audio(R171789.exe) BIOS (Win1501263.EXE) Communications(R114200.EXE, R142668.EXE), Network(R149798.EXE, R150593.EXE,R151519.EXE), System Utils(R134838.EXE), Video(R168684.EXE) ?
