How to add a 2nd Hard Drive or SSD to a HP Pavilion dv7 6000 (6xxx) series laptop (dv7tqe, Quad Edition). The dv7t 6000 series has a 2nd internal HDD bay. You can add a 2nd HDD or SSD internally. A drive caddy already comes with the laptop in the 2nd drive bay, all you will need is a cable with SATA connector. How did you remove the bottom cover? On my DV6 there is protect smart, and there? is no way I can remove the cover as there are no screws.

The dv6 does not have two internal HDD bays. If you want to add a 2nd HDD,? you would have to replace your optical drive with a 2nd HDD caddy. Thanks

No, there is a different slot for mSATA SSD. The 2nd HDD bay will take 2.5″? HDDs or SSDs, but won’t fit a mSATA SSD. thanks!

Hello, you remove the cover by sliding the latch. ? I had it loose already because the latch is very tight on this laptop. I did not want to take too much time on the video pushing on the latch.
How could you take of the bottom cover, you started as it would be already loose. How? come?

Well, at least for the dv7-7000 they just don’t offer a 2nd HDD/SSD! Maybe because of stupid product positioning: If they offered 2, it would make the Pavillion too close to the ENVY series, because the GT650M with 2 GB GDDR5 is the most awesome GPU ever: 45 W and ca.? 800 GFLOPS! Just ideal for a laptop and the bigger GPUs for the ENVY series are, well, actually worse because they have almost the same performance but need 75 -100 W! And since CPU, screen and RAM are the same, no need for ENVY!
